Dear VJ users,

i am new in this website, i have some questions about my case and i will need ur help!!

I am married to an USC since april 08, she sent ourI130 and its was approved cpl days ago.

I am getting worried now for 2 reasons how they will affect my case in the embassy;

1- i tried to come in the state in 2000 with a visitor visa when i was in university and got denied bz i dont have strong ties to comeback to my country.

My wife send me an invitation in 2005 when she was separated with her ex and i tried to visit her on a visitor visa and denied again.

2-my wife had depression the cpl months ago, she had a fight with her aunt anf for violence she stayed 2 days (it was a weekend) in jail till monday when she paid 250 fines bill to comeback to her house.

I dont know if i should finish on this visa processing or i just give up? i am worried if they will deny it in the interview here!!!!

plz any help or ewperience shared will be appreciated.

First it helps us to answer you if we know what type visa was applied for. and past visistor visa denials won't necessarily be held against you if it was for not showing strong ties to your country. As far as the domestic violence charge it sounds like it was a misdemeanor so that shouldn't be a problem either. they do background checks on the petitioer from time to time but it is not normal for all. As long as no serious crimes chances are they will just review the case she had and that will be all to it. I wouldn't worry. If your application was just accepted then you have several months to wait for processing. I suggest you use this time to review all you can about your type visa on this site and become as informed as you can.Ask lots of questions.

You being denied a visitors visa wont be a problem, they probley felt you did not have strong enough ties to return to your country after your visit, so that is not big deal with your interview.

Now for your wife, does she have to go back to court? , or is it over with? I would just get a copy of the police report for just in case, Im sure this was her first mishap with the law, and sounds like a minor thing. What exactly was she charged with? Disturbing the peace or assault?

Either way, do not give up the interview, you will regret and wonder what would of hapened at interview. You came this far and that is GREAT!!!!! Follow thru with rest of your journey. Keep Faith!!!!

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Visa denials on grounds of insufficient ties doesn't sound like a red flag. Even celebrities get denied US visas! :D

As for your wife. What they'd be concerned about was if the USC was male and HE had a record of domestic violence. US government seems wary of American men getting foreign wives and then hurting them. It's doubtful they'll worry your wife is going to beat you. Don't worry so. GOOD LUCK!
