We just received our NOA2 for our K1 visa, and now we move on to NVC, then the embassy. I am wondering, what embassy will get our K1 package?

I am wondering this due to the the fact that my fiance, who is from Macau, holds a Portuguese passport. Macau used to be a part of Portugal, my fiance and many other Macau residents are Portuguese citizens. The nearest embassy to Macau is the US embassy in Hong Kong. The US embassy in Hong Kong handles all embassy matters for people living in Macau. But, since all of my fiance's papers, passport, birth certificate are from Portugal, will NVC still send her packet on to Hong Kong? She was born and raised in Macau, and lives in Macau, with Macau ID and permanent resident status. She has never even been to Portugal except for school holiday.

So does the NVC forward the K1 package to the embassy nearest the fiance, or to the embassy in the country where the fiance has citizenship?

I know the chances are slim, but I wanted to see if there are any other VJ members working on a K1 for a Macau resident who has a Portuguese passport.

Anyone have a guess?

Congratuations!!!! Regarding your question, I believe they will send it to Hong Kong. After all, she is a Macau citizen and Hong Kong does handle all of Hong Kong and Macau embassy matters.

NVC confirmed for me today, residents of Macau always have their applications sent to Hong Kong Consulate.
