Traveling with expired GC while removing conditions

My wife applied for removal of conditions in August and got the one year extension letter. Does any one have any suggestions for traveling outside of the US for a month with this status

Sent I-129F August 21, 2004

NOA-1 August 24, 2004

NOA-2 September 2, 2004

Recieved phone confirmation of <!--WORD2URL-01--><!--END WORD2URL-01-->NVC<!--WORD2URL-02--><!--END WORD2URL-02--> approval September 23, 2004

Waiting on har copy of <!--WORD2URL-01--><!--END WORD2URL-01-->NVC<!--WORD2URL-02--><!--END WORD2URL-02--> approval and receipt of packet at consulate

Called State Dept. after not hearing anything since Sept. 23: Packet reached the consulate and was kicked back for a secondary security clearance probably do to her type of employment - Waiting for clearance and for superpacket to be sent.

Superpacket sent on Oct. 5, 2004

Superpacket received on Jan 7, 2005

Arrived Apr. 23, 2006

Bio Aug 19, 2006

Work permission Sep 06

Permanent residence Oct. 5, 2006

I'm in the same situation.I have been out of the country and had my expired conditional green card and the NOA extension letter with me.

No one even looked at my letter upon return.They glanced at my passport and expired card and let me in without a question.

No need to worry, that's why you have the extension letter.Just make sure your wife also has the card when traveling.

10/27/2008 I-751 Sent to VSC

11/01/2008 NOA

12/04/2008 Biometrics

03/10/2009 VSC to CSC Transfer

03/14/2009 NOA for Transfer received

03/23/2009 Transfer notice received (the looks like a general photo copy)

Approval letter received 5/28/09. (Decision date 5/20/09, postmark date 5/26/09)

CPO email received 7/1/09 (twice in a day)

Approval email received 7/7/09 (more than a moth after I actually got the letter in the mail)

GREEN CARD ARRIVES:7/10/09

There is not problem traveling with the expired green card and the extension letter with you. Just make sure to bring both of them. The reason why they don't look at the letter is because just swiping your green card they have all the information on the computer related to your immigration status. Good luck and enjoy your trip.
