Also one of many reasons why the UK was able to prevent the hijacking attempt of aircraft out of London. Whereas here you have people bitching and moaning about computers scanning their calls. OMFG it's like against my like f--n like rights man..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Around, around the mulberry bush, the monkey chased the weasel.

Maybe we should have the drug uses install solar panels? and that will like fix like everything.. Sounds like something right up your ally.

I forgot about that chapter in the " dumbies guide to becoming a liberal yank". That legalizing drugs will fix everything. It's probably right after the banning guns will fix everything section.

PS I am still waiting on your details so we can box. Which airline do you prefer to travel on?

Actually that's no accurate. There has been strong criticism of the UK government trying to bring in mandatory id cards. The policy has been tied up in parliament for years.

If you do indeed have UK friends you should know this. People there are concerned with issues of privacy and surveillance.

Depends where you live doesn't it.

You can walk in front of a cop car in Britain even if they have the light. You'll get a $70 ticket for if you do that in LA.

Cops in certain parts of this country are much stricter than they are in most parts of the UK.

As I said to you earlier - whenever martial law is declared in a country, the crime rate drops to nothing. That doesn't make a fascist police state an inherently good idea.

Yeah I thought you lived in Birmingham there.

Why the extreme? The second someone mentions law enforcement you make it out as if this will mean the Children of men or V for Vendetta scenario. Talk about fear mongering but anyway. The reality still is that the government and police there have much more power to prevent crime than they do here. Especially in Australia. One of many reason for the ridiculously low murder rate there.

Admiring the justice systems of corrupt and despotic regimes seems pretty extreme to me.

There are too many criminals in prison to have prison reform.

Then how about better and tougher laws to DETER people from committing crime?

The death penalty didn't/doesn't prevent violent crime.

Sure it does! Execute a murderer and he or she will never murder again. :P

ID cards are a different story. Trying getting a job without ID there. No yoour against brown people clowns there. Took my friend over a month to get a UK bank account. His father was born in the UK and he is obviously an Australian citizen. A country still part of the monarchy. In NY he had a State ID, BA and SSN within a week. We it comes to corporations and their privacy that is a different story. Very few people in Aus for example have a problem with the government accessing their info for obvious reasons. That is, they are the government. To the contrary, we are totally against corporations being able to store and sell our information. Whereas here it is Back-Azzwards. You do realize with a few pieces of information here it is quite easily to acquire someone's life story. Where they have spent their money, what on, when the visit the doctor etc. Totally legal might I add.

Sic off topic but you sound like the type who would be in London protesting the G20.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

The problem there when it comes to the youth is the lax UKish style sentencing. Liberals have managed to soften the sentencing and like Six blame society or some other external force.

The thing is that you will be hard pressed to find columbine equivalents there. The one incident many years ago caused a mandatory buy back of all high powered weapons. They are banned ever since. You cannot even own a air riffle there.

I was trying to find it somewhere online so I could link to it but I've failed miserably. Basically it was saying the problem is so bad and parents are doing nothing to help that they're going to start taking away non-essential household items like TVs and stereos so the parents will pay more attention to it. Apparently the $2,000 fines weren't enough.

If you do a violent crime you should get at least 20 years, now if you do a non-violent crime, it makes absolutely no sense to keep them lock up for twenty to life, it is a waste of money and space. I have seen murders get less time than someone who committed a non-violence offense. Crazy stuff, if you are a predator than you should spend your life behind bars, period. If you prey on children than I have no mercy for you period.
