i have a question which regards my friend's situation...my friend is waiting for her fiance interview as well.now her question is she just got her job last august so on her taxes its just from august-december. total income was $10,xxx (aug-december) but she has her paystubs january onwards.. on her certificate of employment her monthly salary and date she started was stated..

my question is does she need a co-sponsor since she didnt meet the 125 poverty guidelines?

her fiance consulate embassy is philippines,do they accept co sponsor in the philippines?

can she put her bank statements as support also?

thanks!

I would also suggest reading the instructions for the I-134 and I-864 as well as visiting the Phillipines Regional Discussion here on VJ for Manila specific information.

Yes, if she can't meet it, she will need to cover it. However, what is her annual income level? that is what they are looking for.

her fiance consulate embassy is philippines,do they accept co sponsor in the philippines?

I've seen posts that go either way.

can she put her bank statements as support also?

Unless she has 3x times the difference between her income level and the poverty level in the account, bank statements will not show income level.

thanks!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Generally they go by CURRENT income first, but it is consulate specific, or can be. If the CURRENT income is above guidelines then she will be OK in the majority of the consulates
