Anyone used the WES?

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone here had used the World Education Service (www.wes.org) to evaulate their foreign education credentials and get them "translated" into US Equivalents? I'm strongly considering doing it as they seem a LOT cheaper than other Credential Evaluators...if anyone has any suggestions or comments they would be more than welcome!

i have used the WES, they r quick provided u got all ur documents sorted out. I was trained in India so my documents had to arrive from there but it didnt take too long. Once they had all the neccessary documents it was done in 7 days which is what i had asked for. But they have faster services as well.

Another thing WES is quic ker, cheaper if ur going to enroll into a college.

Only few states in america would accept credits being evaluted from WES. Depending on what the need is really, I am a physical therapist, so i have to get my credits evaluated from independent agencies like the FCCPT or CGFNS.

the reason i got my credits evaluated from WES was to enroll in a college coz i need to get some extra credits done in order to practise my profession here. Every state has there own requirements. It doesnt matter if i have worked in the UK. I still got to do it. but the best thing is to find out from WES itself who will be able to give u better answer, www.wes.org

Also another thing to find out if there r colleges, universities in ur area if they accept WES evaluation.

The college i got enrolled gave me the information and yes they r cheap compared to others. hope this answers ur question.

Thanks for the advice Vinay, it sounds like exactly what I need - I don't have any "Professional" things which need converting, just something official I can show to potential employers so they know where I stand in comparison to US Applicants etc with regard to my degree results. Will definately be getting it done in the next few weeks!

We looked at the homepage for international students at the college STewart wanted to attend here...they recommended J.F. Silny and associates.

They were fair, quick, and professional.

I would definitely recommend them.

I am having serious worries about how will I go about getting a degree in Puerto Rico.

I´m a law graduate from Brasil, and I plan on taking a bar exam so I can work as a lawyer in Puerto Rico, but so far I have no clue as to what exactly will be required. I know there are some classes that I´ll have to take in order to comply with US´s laws on who can take a bar exam, but I hoped I didn´t have to take the entire Law degree again.

THEY SUCK!!!!!!

I had to evaluated my Italian College Transcript and they wanted like $150 or so. I told them I needed urgently for my College and they say "u have to pay $200 for that". They also said the might put the application on a hold to verify with my College here in Italy. I said "I need it NOW. At least u can cut me the deal sinc eu put a hold on it" they said "No u pay the same price". WHAT???? It took like 3 weeks to have it evaluated and when I gave it to my College they said it was all wrong. I had 38 credit hours from Italy and they evaluated them into 18 amaerican credit hours. The College redid everything and it took only a week and they gave.....60 credit hours. I am a Junior now and I only have to pay for 2 years of College. Not only I had to pay $200 but they also put on a hold, i had to wait 3 weeks and I still had to pay the same price. The evaluation was completely wrong and I was like a freshman!!!! I would have to pay the entire 4 years that I didnt even need!!!!

DONT EVER USE WES. They suck as*s

I used IERF.ORG because they're one of the recommended CE of UCLA. Their prices are decent compared to other CE, and the service is fast and friendly too.

I used Center for Educational Documentation (http://www.cedevaluations.com/) and it took about 2 weeks for them to complete a course-by-course transcript translation. It cost $125 for that evaluation (only $75 if you wanted a general 'Yep, that is a four year degree she got in ___') and I was very pleased by what they had to say about my grades & credentials. My universities (all in MA) gave 3 options for where you could get them done.

Best option. Most universities dont trust those companies and they wanna review the credits either way. The university evaluation is the best. And they are never picky......

My husband used WES and the results came pretty quickly once they had everything they needed. It was harder for him to get his transcript info from his schools attended. But once it was sent on, WES sent the evaluation within a couple of weeks maximum I think...I know it was FAST. He needed an evaluation to substantiate his teacher training AND his degree which he then had to turn over to the state board of education for his certification. So he HAD to use an evaluation service. In fact, I believe it was the state board of education that said they'd only accept from a few places, WES being one of them.

WES sucks thanks u very much. I didnt pay anythign for my evaluation from my College..I dont know what u should pay a shitload of money to these incompetent ppl.....
