If the Chinese invaded the West Coast, what kind of guns would you need?

Our lines of defense:

1) That big moat - the Pacific Ocean.

2) All those gun owners, incl those I see on VJ. You are all within 3 days driving/ 6 hours flying from here.

Same defense the Europeans - had moat, with guard towards to protect the rulers/people/etc.

(Good thing we are all the United States --- what would be like if we divided, like Europe??? - that's another thread.)

Why not continue doing as we are in the Middle East?? Those drones are not just taking videos you know...

They are spraying out a genetically modified version of the AIDS virus that's keyed to the Arabic genome.

Just continue with the modification to include Chinese...

Inside of a year they are all gone....

Gun experts, chime in. The Chinese have invaded the left coast. The DC govt lies in tatters due to infighting and gridlock. What kind of weapons do you need to launch an effective resistance?

I ask because out of all the gun threads, none of them address the very reason we have a 2nd amendment - so that the citizens can effectively resist a tyrannical government.

For the purposes of this exercise, please assume the Chinese invasion force is tyrannical.

Call Nacy Polosi????

Invade California?

Wouldn't it be more likely (if this were even remotely likely) that would try to annex Alaska for its oil reserves?

Why would the Chinese get out of invading CA?

Not the point. The point is, what kind of guns will the citizenry need to fight off a tyrannical government.

The idea is that the Second Amendment can't possibly allow the banning of weapons necessary to achieve the very purpose of the Second Amendment.

Then by that rationale there should be no limits whatsoever - and the citizens should be allowed to carry around fully automatic machine guns, grenades and rocket launchers.

I agree.

there are about 1.1 million chinese soldiers, of which 600K are active. most of those are stationed on the border with india.

assuming you could get them all trucked to shanghai and loaded onto container ships without anybody noticing, they would still have to swim to shore from a half mile after a 3 week sea voyage. 600K of them would crush cali resistance, but then, just as hope appeared to be failing, the 3.5 million pennsylvania deer hunters who hit the woods each november would arrive in a pick-up truck caravan and rout the chinese with an assortment of hunting and sport utility rifles.

it would be over in 2 days, and the only dissapointment in the experience would be to those who failed to fill their tag. justashooter would be there with the twin belt fed brownings and an assortment of fn/fal, ak, and ar to try out. he woud prolly also bring a few subguns for house clearing, and would find out if 30 tokarev ammo really will peirce the average chinese helmet. his wife, not really that impressed with the chinese government, would come along to help interrogate the prisoners.

RIGHT ON

But why not cure the whole problem with giving them the medcine they sold us I'm sure there is plenty of SKS'S around. and don't count on Jacky Cann he's one of them!
