K3 interview April 2nd. NVC just scheduled CR1

I need some advice.

We have the K3 scheduled for April 2nd. NVC just approved and scheduled the CR1 on May 14th. How do I get this changed to April 2nd.

Typically you can do one of 2 things.

You interview for the K-3 and then wait and do the CR-1 at the later date, this will cost you $131 fee for the K-3.

OR

Contact DOS Visa services and see about rescheduling or canceling the K-3 interview and stick to the CR-1 interview date.

More than likely you cannot get the CR-1 moved to the K-3 interview date because the consulate has not receiver the CR-1 paperwork, or may need to do some handling of the CR1 paperwork which cannot be completed before the date of the K-3 interview.

You already paid $470 to NVC you may as well do the CR-1 visa why toss this down the drain and pay another $1010 to adjust status from a K-3?

Neither of us really want to wait for the CR1 interview since it's 6 weeks away.

What happens if he interviews for the K3 and is approved (one can only hope) and then flies here to the USA? Do we need to cancel the CR1 interview and then just continue on with the AOS and EAD?
