What Lula doesn't realize is that there's plenty of brown on Wall Street.

and plenty of white people with blue eyes in south brazil

Who care what he says. the guy didn't even finish high school. I still can't believe how many imbeciles we have in brazil to vote for him. i guess all the poor uneducated people thought that by voting to someone like that would make a difference, like he understands their issues, blah blah blah. bunch of BS.

Sorry everyone...

It's all my fault the world is this way...

But GANFS made me do it...

Goes for a lot of countries and the results they have to deal with years after elections.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

He's a former comunist, imbecile person who shouldn't be president at all. His government is based on giving financial aid to poor families so he can get votes from them, when instead he should be making the taxes we pay for education, health, etc actually be used for that and not disappearing in transit.

P.S. Charles, I LOVE my country, but I can't stand that squid (Lula means squid in Portuguese).

i know you love brazil, i was just having an aj moment there. :P and i agree with you - from what i've read about him, he's a snake oil salesman.

No he is a shoe shine boy>

Is it possible that's where the taxes go, in aid to poor families?

Nope, it goes into Minister's pockets.

Last time I checked we paid 74 different taxes in Brasil. Companies pay 36% of all they make in taxes. 39% of all the money the government makes every year comes from taxes paid by the people. Rest assured there should be enough money both for the financial aid and for health and education, etc.

I paid more in Brasilian taxes last year than I paid in U.S. taxes.

Buy a car or Motorcycle in Brasil, at least twice what it costs in the U.S., and half of that is taxes.

Electronics are the same, appliances and almost everything else, taxes are insane in Brasil.

Despite that, it is still an extremly nice place, the wife is there now, for 3 months.

Does that mean that us white, blond hair, blue-eyed people living in Brazil are no longer welcome? :protest: :protest:

As for others comments about Lula....I might not be a native Brazilian, but I agree! The taxes that people pay here are quite high, especially considering the amount of money that they make, and you can't see what they are being used on at all!!

Every time it rains here in São Paulo for more than 15 minutes, the streets get flooded and peoples cars are ruined! I've only been here 2 months, and I've been caught out in it 4 times already! Yes, this is partly because people are stupid and throw all of their trash on the streets and it clogs up the drains, but if more trash cans were provided (there are basically none on the streets) this problem would at least lesson!!! IMO, 1st step: put lots and lots and lots of trashcans EVERYWHERE (the more then better, it's okay to be excessive). 2nd step: CLEAN THE DRAINS!!

Silly government. (although, the US is pretty messed up too...but that's a different thread).

whew...im glad me eyes are green and I dont have to lose sleep over this one

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
