Good morning everyone

I really want to know whats the different between the Administrative Process and the Administrative Review ?!!!!

I had my interview yesterday and the CO gave me my passport back and she said that she needs to do some Administrative Review . and she gave me a yellow paper and she marked on where it says Administrative process and where it says passport .

I asked some people who are in the same situation and they told me that they got a white paper not yellow paper . and the CO marked on where it says Administrative process and passport to .

So whats the different between the white and the yellow paper ?

Thank you so much

I dont really know sometimes the same paper and different colors from what I have read BUT I would rather be in the REVIEW than the PROCESS.

GOOD LUCK DEAR (F)

Soon you will get that delightful call, and when you least expect it, COME AND BRING YOUR PASSPORT!

Here's a good explanation of Administrative Review:

"False Hits" Problem: Consular posts however have recently been inundated with "false hits" from 7 million new names added to the NCIC database, including persons with convictions for minor offenses such as simple DUIs and shoplifting. Many visa applicants with common names with those in the database get a "false hit": this refers to when a visa applicant's name matches a name in the datebase but is NOT actually that same person in the database, just a person with a common or very similar name. This places the case into what is called "Administrative Review". Under current rules, the Consulate is required in this circumstance to receive full clearance from FBI (via the NVC) before Consulate can issue the visa. It may require a full fingerprint check and customized investigation. Full clearance from FBI (via the NVC) in most cases can take 4 to 6 weeks, but in some cases much longer and even months.

If it's white your coming and if it's yellow you're going :jest: . All joking aside, I don't think it matters what colour the paper is. Clearly, it states you are on AR and the word passport. My husband's paper was white and said AP and passport. In the end it all spells the same. You gotta just wait.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

you know why guys i asked about the color ? cause when i was there i saw the white paper (its the same like that yellow she gave me but maybe different color ) . so i thought maybe each color means something ?!!!!!!.

so you guys think that AR is better than AP ?!!!

Thank you

My experience on this site and being on AP myself leads me to believe they mean the same.

AP & AR are used pretty interchangably by people on VJ and by State Dept employees. However, you would rather be "waiting to pass name check clearance" list than on "we need to investigate your relationship further because we are not certain" list.

Based on my quick read of your interview experience, the CO felt comfortable with your interview answers and evidence and would probably like to issue the visa. However, your name has not cleared the magical State Dept computers in Washington, DC. It is my understanding that no visas are issued until that name check is cleared.

I interviewed with my husband for his K-1. We were interviewed separately and were 99% on for answers. At the end the CO said (more or less), "I have good news and bad news - good, I believe your relationship. Bad, we need to do additional processing."

I remember he was vague even when I tried to clarify in English - because at that moment they do not know my husband is a good "Joe Smith" or a bad one. Later the DOS and my congressperson liason confirmed it was a name check issue --- which makes sense because he has a very common Latino name. I pray your name clearance is faster than his. We got caught in some of the summer of 2007 rate increase work overload I'm sure.

Go make friends in the Admin Processing forum. There are others who are a few weeks/months ahead, several from ME.

Good Luck!!!
