I just got my GC in the mail today, which was a very nice surprise since my last 'touch' was in mid-February and I've had no emails from CRIS :lol:. Folded inside the approval notice was an extra sheet with a little GC-size paper envelope stuck to it with a DHS logo on it. Apparently it's for me to keep my green card in :blink:

Has anyone else got one of these? Nice to know our $1010 is being spent on the really important things, huh? :lol:

05/20/08 - POE: Chicago O'Hare

07/18/08 - Married

08/30/08 - I-485/I-765 mailed...

03/17/09 - Card production ordered (no notification received!)

03/26/09 - Green card received (196 days)

Removal of Conditions

02/15/11 - I-751 mailed to VSC...

02/22/11 - NOA1 (received 03/03/11)

04/04/11 - Biometrics appt (notice received 03/19/11)

08/22/11 - * * * t u m b l e w e e d s * * * (T+6 months and counting)

09/20/11 - Service Request #1

10/26/11 - Service Request #2

11/29/11 - Interview @ Atlanta Field Office - Approved & I-551 stamped

Congratulations!

Well, I did, and you know what I did with it? Since there was a mistake on my GC, I put it in the little envelope and sent it back to USCIS together with the supporting evidence. :whistle:

Has anyone else got one of these? Nice to know our $1010 is being spent on the really important things, huh? :lol:

I kind of expected my green card today but the mail is weird today.. normally they come in the afternoon, nothing came.. turns out they came in the morning and one of my mom-in-law's clients (people with altzheimer, she runs a carehome downstairs) took the mail apparently.. all we know is that a box has been delivered but no other mail that we know of, if we ask the guy, then he doesn't know anymore lol.. I so hope it wasn't there and that it comes tomorrow or a bit later, coz if it was, then hmm.. I have no idea what to do lol

N400 Timeline:

12/14/11 - Sending out N400 package

12/19/11 - Received by USCIS

12/21/11 - NOA date

12/22/11 - Check cashed

12/27/11 - Received NOA

02/06/12 - Received yellow letter (pre-interview case file review)

03/13/12 - Placed in line for interview scheduling (3 yr anniversary)

04/17/12 - Interview - No decision, application under further review

04/25/12 - Placed in line for oath scheduling (so I'm approved yay!)

They put that little envelope with all the GC and Visas they issue. I got one when I got my B1/B2 visa and I got one with the GC. I dont really think it protects your card a lot, but I guess is better than nothing... lol

Congrats on receiving the card. Hey JeroenAndMichelle, we were approve the same day I see. I'm too is waiting anxiously. I know Im approved already and there are a lot of people ready to settle just for a nice aproval notice, but I just wanna hold that little card that makes such a difference in people's life. I was hoping to receive it thusday, and even tho i's been about a week since aproval, but the wait seems like an eternity lol. Hopefully there is still Friday and Saturday lol

Thanks, I received it today :D mail was kind of weird yesterday, apparently because of some state holiday.. they did do their mail rounds for packages but not for normal mail :S

And, lol, the envelope is very silly indeed.. cannot believe that is what we paid for :lol: btw, so is the whole greencard.. doesn't look like some quality thing.. but oh well, at least we got it, that's the most important thing :D

Hmm apparently I was approved on the spot: March 13.. I thought it was March 16 because that was the date the approval letter was send out but apparently it was all ok during the interview after all :D

I think your card should come soon too tho, probably today or tomorrow if the statistics are the same for your area :)
