I think we said it before the movie.

In defense of the movie, it was situated in 1940s Germany.

[

No doubt! They were saying it long before I got there. :P

But not having seen that movie, I would imagine one particular plot against Hilter where that line may have been appropriate. Seems I might have even heard that line in a Hogan's Heroes espisode, or something like it!

so steven, what about guys posing with mp-5's? are they a threat? what about people that shoot .50 caliber handguns?

Charles, you combine the profile of a mass murder with a weapon that would make it very easy for them to carry out their fantasy of killing lots of people. Do you agree?

hmmm, no answer from steven yet. interesting.

It's a stupid question - by implying that I've made some statement, yet interesting, you've nothing to quote from me in reference to your question. The title of this thread is Profile of Mass Murders. If you want to start on another topic, go start your own thread.

i'm just asking.......since you were the one with the guns.

Again...you combine a mass murderer with a weapon that would make it easy for them to kill a lot of people in a very short amount of time...that's the issue behind AWB and the reason that the law passed back in 1994.

So far, no one has made any convincing argument as to why an ordinary citizen would need an assault weapon. An AWB would greatly reduce the chance of a disgruntled worker going postal and wiping out everyone of his co-workers. While he may still use another gun, there's a better chance that someone can suppress him before it becomes a massacre.

Wasn't there a video posted last month showing the difference between a military assault weapon and cosmetic changes made to a semi-automatic rifle?

Fo-sho.

I'm still in lab and have an early meeting tomorrow. Enough gun talk for today. I might just go out at get myself an AR-15 for the heck of it tomorrow.

Not. Like Matt, I am also banned from having anything that fires high-speed projectiles at home other than a bow.

as long as you want people to define a term that is nebulous, you won't get an answer. see your poll for why.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

Okay, take the preferred weapon anyway and it will simply just change the profile.... ya think killers are going to stop just because the preferred weapon isn't as readily available? They will either get the preferred weapon illegally or they will use yet another weapon.

Considering how many people are in the USA, only a few people use their weapons for murder and you want them taken from the majority just because the minority just them for murder. Darn those dems, always looking out for minorities. :)

obviously, you have never read the Federalist Papers. jefferson and madison had your answer 200 years before you were born.

the fed papers are a collection of articles written around the time of incorporation of our constitution for publication in newspapers in the major cities of the confederated states in effort to influence public opinion. said public opinion was hoped to pressure representatives from various colonies to come to the table and settle minor disagreement about the structure of the proposed constitution.

the fed papers make it abundantly clear that the intent and purpose of the 2nd amendment is to allow americans to defend the country against "enemies, foreign and domestic". it's not about duck hunting, elmer. it's about being able to defent the country against foreign governments, and our own government.

Double yawn.

Why do some nutjobs prove to be such consistent defenders of excessive gun power at home? Is it yet another compensation issue they have?

You may have stumbled onto something!!!

You just never know when a small war will break out and all these gun owners will get to spring into action. After all, there are a lot countries that would rather invade us with their highly trained military, rather than lob a nuke or fly some commercial aircraft into populated areas.
