I AM IN THE PROCESS OF TURNING IN MY DS 230, IF ANYONE NEEDS SOME HELP OR ADVICE ON THE PROCESS THIS FAR PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REPLY TO THIS POST. IT HAS BEEN PRETTY EASY THUS FAR, I HAVE CONTACTED THE NVC NUMEROUS TIMES TO GET CLARIFICATION ON EVERYTHING. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCES WITH ANYONE

hi krys. i would like to ask about the form d230. if ever i forgot to sign the part 1 of it? what will i do next? do i need to send back another copy of it? or should i wait for the notification of NVC about the said requirement? thanks. hope to hear from you

You should wait, b/c u dont want to just send in a Ds 230 without the coversheet and the original docs, if i were you i would call them and ask if they would be retuning the one i sent or if i need to turn in a completly new form at their request. if you need to turn in a new form then go ahead and fill it out now and sign it and wait for the email or some notification to send it in. Call them they ae really helpful. hope my answer helped

Thanks for the offer Krys!

We just paid the IV fees for both parents, and are wating for the payments to be processed and then our instructions for the DS-230 & documents to be available.

What are you sending NVC as far as documents? Are you sending any original documents? What about "certified" copies? Does that mean basically a photocopy of the document that has been signed off on in original ink by a city/country official?

I hate to have Marina's parents have to put together a package by themselves and mail to the NVC, but I suppose there is no way around it since they will have to sign the DS-230's and send it in with the "certified" documents. I just want to make it as easy as possible for them.

I wonder why they choose an "agent" to help them, but we really can't help them too much (expect for explaining things I guess) since they are overseas and ultimately have to send in the forms/documents to the NVC for approval. We could send the forms/documents for them but we cannot trust the mail system in Moldova and sending documents express is very expensive going back and forth overseas.

Any advice from your experience so far would be great.

03/31/2009 Paid $70 AOS (affadavit of support) fee on-line (one fee for both petitions)
04/10/2009 Marina's parent's e-mailed DS-3032 to NVC for both petitions
04/15/2009 AOS documents for both petitions mailed USPS Priority to NVC
