this site has been so helpful for me, i'm just left with a few questions about the affidavit of support. i am currently living in honduras with my fiancee. i'm working as a teacher here and making very little money. my mother is going to be my co-sponsor and i know that we both have to fill out the affidavit of support, but i'm not sure what supporting documents i should include. i'm planning to include copies of my tax returns (which show that i made very little money in the states).

my question is: is it really necessary for me to send other documents? such as a letter from my employer here in honduras, stating that i make very little money. it seems pointless because it doesn't show anything. my mom is going to include lots of evidence showing that she has enough money.

i hope someone can help me out!

Moving this to consulate embassy forum, I-134 is required for visa interview at the consulate.

You will need to attach evidence that you did not give up US domicile. Us Domicile is required to sponsor an immigrant and fill out affidavit of support (I-134, or I-864 when adjusting status)

thanks. what kind of evidence can i attach to prove us domicile? i have bank statements delivered to my us address. i can't think of anything else.

besides attaching proof of us domicile, do i need to attach any other financial documents or is that unnecessary since we are depending on my mom's income for the affidavit of support?

You will provide an I-134 + Financial evidence (IRS Returns) Even though you may be exempt from paying tax on foreign income, you are not exempt from filing a return. Copy of drivers license, copy of mail (bills) sent to your US address, copy of US bank account statement showing recent deposits.

Your parent will also provide an I-134 with their financial evidence attached.
