yes , I married with an american citizen 2 years ago. I applied for green card on june 2007, then got an interview on May 2008. but they needed more school doccuments from me. I came US with F-1 and I never been out of status. I sent doccuments to them a week later. After that I got mail from immigration about my I-130 approved. But my I-485 still pending . I have been waiting for almost 2 years already. Can you help me? What I should I do? I heard that, I-130 and I-485 suppose to approve at the same time, right? I need to go back to my country but I cant. I'm so sad now. Its killmy filling so bad. THANK YOU

I-130 and I-485 are handled by separate departments and center's I-130 typically is handled by CSC or VSC, I-485 is handled by NBC and the field office, they are NOT approved at the same time, the service center approves I-130, and the field office approves the I-485 when adjusting from a visa OTHER than a K-Visa.

More than likely the case is stalled in name checks.

All you can do is schedule an info-pass and ask about the case, or perhaps have a senator or representative make an inquiry.

Also why not apply for an AP doc? File form I-131, this will allow you to travel to home country.

You Will need to pay the $340 fee for AP since you filed the I-485 before July 30 2007.

Call your senator and congressman and see which one has a immigration specialist on their staffs. Normally it's the senators. Ours here helped me a LOT.
