How long is the I-130 valid for?

Hiya

Just wondering how long the I-130 is valid for after it is approved? We're hoping to push out our move date by a few months and want to hold off on sending back the DS-230 and Notice of Readiness.

It is valid for up to a year, the consulate will hold the file until your respond to packet 3 (DS-230)

3 months should not be a problem, however I would call them and ask.

Note: If and when the visa is approved, it will be valid for 6 months after approval, you will have that long to ener the USA.

Note: If you do delay the process, you may want to try to delay long enough to allow you to enter the USA after 2 years of marriage, this will save you from the 2 year conditional green-card and the added cost and paperwork to remove the conditions on the card.
