2/3rs of VJers don't want to see a return of the AW ban!!

VJers! This same group of people voted Obama in poll after poll a few months ago.

No wonder Obama doesn't take gun control serously.

The demographics....most polls I've done in the past had an overwhelming majority of female respondents. Look at the number of USC Males who've responded. I'll have to advertise this poll better.

Face it, Steven. You're on the wrong side of history on this one. This nation was founded on the bedrock principle that we can bear arms and blow ####### up.

Then I want to express my Second Amendment right and have my own nuclear bomb...with the capability to annihilate thousands of people should anyone try to break into my house. It's my right, dammit.

If you can bear a nuke, then sure. I think suitcase nukes should be legal and should be sold at Wal Mart.

If some schmuck with an assault weapon threatened me, I'd just laugh in his face. Amateur.

You must interpreting something in the Second Amendment that isn't there. It says, 'the right to bear arms shall not be infringed.' It doesn't say, except for WMD.

I'm taking the Second Amendment to its literal interpretation as many others do. How do you interpret the Second Amendment?

Your arguments are circular and you are proposing that we give up another of our constitutionally given basic rights and freedoms.

You can't build your own nuclear bomb. There are restrictions on explosive devices. The larger question is where do you draw the line between protecting citizens and personal liberties? If you believe the 1st Amendment is absolute, then any weapon should be legal...any. If you agree that some weapons should be illegal - then what is your criteria?

Right now the limiting factor is the nuclear material to make it go boom. Why do you think the NRC cracks down on rouge nuke reactors around the world?

I have access to small amounts of NRC-controlled isotopes. I-125. Want some?

Oh right... its gamma spread doesn't go beyond a few feet. Darn.

Making a homemade nuke. A bit too movie-ish there. Sorry.

Reading comprehension is your friend, you may want to look into it.

Uranium isn't the only radioactive material available for nuclear devices. I'm sure you've heard of dirty bombs right?

If you can bear a nuke, then sure. I think suitcase nukes should be legal and should be sold at Wal Mart.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Sure have - but a "dirty bomb" (in today's world) is not a nuclear device, it is a standard explosive weapon (or improvised device) that spreads radioactive material around without it going nuclear (the radioactive material).

Which is easier to do than to make a working nuclear device.

(Btw - as far as I know, only weapons-grade plutonium and uranium can be used for a nuke - no other radioactive material has the same "bang" - so that would make it very difficult to make your own nuke)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Certainly correct. The nuclear chain reaction just isn't the same. As the explosive spread of lower gamma energy radio isotopes found in run of the mill dirty bombs. :star:

I was referring more to the practical aspect. Although there are some very clear blast zone vs fallout zone differences in both kinds of explosions, they are based on being set off.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

There is a reason that chemical weapons are called the poor man's nukes.
