Hi, Everyone. I have filed my case in May 08 to TSC. Then, it was transfered to VSC. I did my BIO and nothing updated after that. I didn't worried too much till now but after I see those people who filed around same time as mine started to get approved. My case hasn't updated anything like "touched". Anyway, as I was reading some of forums, I see people trying to contact to Congressman or Senater in the states. And it seems like it's working to find the case what's going on. Here are some my quesiotns.

1)Which is better to contact Congressman?? or Senater??

2)Writting letter is better than making a call?

3) Are your cases' number start from SRC###? Because mine does. But should it be started as CR###???

If someone can help me to answer these quiestions, I'd really appreciate.. Thanks.

I am going to share my experience with you!!!Here is what happened to me...I applied in the middle of February,2008 and didn't hear anything nor I got any touches after my biometrics(March 2008)...so I called the 1800 # and they told me to wait 30 days after 1 year anniversary (which would be March 18th of 2009) and call again so they can forward an information request to VSC...I did call on the 18th,they submitted the request and told me that I would get an answer within 30 days...I got an email 2 days later, explaining that my case is under review right now and I should get a decision within 60 days(this is a standard email they send to everyone who requests info)...so being pissed off because of the long 13 month wait I called my senator's office and talked to the immigration specialist who told me to write a letter, include a copy of my extension letter and bio. letter and send it to their office, promising that they would try to find out what was taking VSC so long...on March 31st as I was heading to my mailbox to send the letter to the senator I found a letter in the mail from VSC dated March 25th...the letter stated that the expedite request had been approved and upon receipt of my letter requesting expeditious handling, the matter was reviewd and a determination was made that it met the criteria for special handling. The pettition/application will be reviewed and that I should be receiving notification from this office very shortly...without sending the letter to the senator I came back in the house and ran to check my email, see if I had a message from uscis website and guess what I had "card production ordered" email from them...then on April 1st I got the same email again that the card was ordered and then on the 6th I got the actual card in the mail...the whole I751 journey lasted 13 months and 15 days...it was very stressing and I would get really depressed every time I would see someone who had applied months after me and getting approved before me...but it all worked out at the end...there is still a light at the end of a tunnel..don't panic and don't stress, everything will be fine...I just wanted to share this, maybe to give you a hope?!...Good Luck!!!

We are still waiting, our file date is May 7, 2008. Does anyone know if they will automagically send another extension letter or do we need to make an Infopass apointment?

They would not send another extension letter "auto - magically" (it's a good make-up word). You will have to make an infopass appointment to get your valid unexpired passport stamped with the I-551 stamp about the last 1-2 weeks before your extension letter expired. You might as well also ask about your case while you're there to get the stamp. Hope you get the GC soon! Good Luck :star: !

Thanks!

Got the card production email the day after I posted this. Yea! Finally.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Brazil
Timeline

My fiance enterd the U.S. Oct 28, we were married Nov 1,

I-94 expired Jan 26

We had tickets to Brasil March 12, no AP or green card on March 10

Called my Senators office, 2 hours later got a phone call that the AP had been approved, and they were going to overnight the AP to us.

I said that we were to fly to Brasil on the 12 but that we would not have the AP in hand, they informed me that as long as the AP was approved she could leave the country and when I returned from Brasil I could send it or take it to her when I returned in May. And if we had problems entering the U.S. to call the office and they would help us.

Called the Senators office again last Wednesday to inquire why the Green Card was taking so long, got the letter yesterday saying the GC was approved.

When I return to Brasil I will take both the AP, unecessary now, and the Green Card to her.

Not sure how this relates to your case but contacting my Senators office has made a big difference, quick response and very friendly, returned my calls extremely fast and action within hours, aint that amazing.

Most VJer might also same questions. Whom to contact Senator Or Congressman. I have the same question.

But after reading a lot of post on VJ, i think Contact Senator is better. We should contact their immigration issues officer or expert.

Can any one with experience tell us how does the process of contacting a senator works and how should one proceed.

If senator option doesn't work then i think we should contact office of Ombudsman for USCIS.
