Hi, Everyone. I have filed my case in May 08 to TSC. Then, it was transfered to VSC. I did my BIO and nothing updated after that. I didn't worried too much till now but after I see those people who filed around same time as mine started to get approved. My case hasn't updated anything like "touched". Anyway, as I was reading some of forums, I see people trying to contact to Congressman or Senater in the states. And it seems like it's working to find the case what's going on. Here are some my quesiotns.

1)Which is better to contact Congressman?? or Senater??

2)Writting letter is better than making a call?

3) Are your cases' number start from SRC###? Because mine does. But should it be started as CR###???

If someone can help me to answer these quiestions, I'd really appreciate.. Thanks.

You may want to go to My Assistant above and fill in your Timeline so others can see exactly where you are in the process.

You can call or write either. Just have all the information and numbers ready for them. I don't know about your case number. It should be on your NOA.

A lot of people have waited 11 or 12 months for approval. VSC is very slow now. Writing or calling on your case may or may not help. Others may give you better information.

Good luck.

All depends of which representative has the best immigration specialist on there staff. Mine was the senator. They got things moving RIGHT away with our I-751.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

If you filed in May some day 2008 and VSC is showing April 20, 2008 for I-751 processing, yeah I know they didn't update in the last couple of months, your senator nor congressman may not be able to do anything until your application date is about a month passed the posted processing day. And if you did file 90 days ahead of time like you are suppose to, you still have some time to go yet.

If it comes close to your expiration date, you make an infopass appointment, sure it's an inconvenience, a day or two off work depending on how far it is, but you have to do that to stay legal, so that comes first. You either bring in your current valid foreign passport, or two passport photos for an I-94, plus copies of your I-751 and proof that you sent it for verification.

That is how the USCIS works, you can take it or leave it.

Good luck.

I applied in may08, they receipt it in may 28th, i called the 1800 #, and all i got was a person reading me what appears online about my case, and because they are still showing april 20th, we are not outside the processing time, so we have no choice but to WAIT!, it really really sucks when i log on and i see people that applied after me, june and on, and already got approved, it totally sucks, hopefully someday, let me knwo if you get anything moving by contacting your senator or congressman, after my biometrics i got 1 update which was 2 days after i did then, and absolutely nothing else.

I hope you hear something soon. I know it is no consolation but there are still some filers from February and January waiting for their approvals as well. VSC is taking about 12 to 13 months to approve some applications so you should be hearing something soon.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Not sure how helpful my response will be. I hired an attorney to help with my now-husband's K1 visa application. I was in my last year of college and didn't have the time to dedicate to learning the laws. Anyway, USCIS took a pretty long time to process my husband's I-129F. My dad is an attorney and is personal buddies with a Congressman (Cuellar), and I asked my attorney if it would help speed things along if I got Mr. Cuellar involved.

My attorney told me NO, that unless there was some sort of problem with the I-129F, getting Mr. Cuellar to pull our file would actually slow the approval process significantly! I forget the exact reason why. I have an e-mail about it somewhere, which I'll try to find.

Anyway, if there's no pressing reason to get a Congressman involved, it's apparently better not to.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Is frustrating, Sen. Feingold was very helpful to us in that our application was misplaced from the shift from Nebraska to California, and his immigration specialist has secret phone numbers and e-mail addresses to contact the USCIS that is not available to us. What is, is USCIS personnel that don't know anything. But we still had to wait our turn. Since I finally knew our application was not lost and in California, I elected to send them more evidence, like another year of tax returns, insurance policies, new joint purchases, grade transcripts for our daughter, and some photos when we were within two months of the expiration of both their one year extensions.

Was under the impression both my wife and daughter needed valid foreign passports for that I-551 stamp, so we took a trip to Chicago to get them that meant losing two days of work and school, but learned later on, we could have brought in two passport photos for an I-94. In contacting St. Paul, they didn't want to see us until we were within two weeks of the expiration date, so I was practicing on making infopass appointments, learned the best time was at around 4:00 AM.

But both cards came in three weeks before the expiration date, did learn they would not be deported, but neither could work nor go to school until those cards came in.

At the same time, we applied for the N-400 with tons of evidence, seven weeks later after the cards came in, my wife received her USC, so had to give hers back. Ha, she didn't want to, after everything we went through to get it.

This really got me to wonder about this whole I-751, it is definitely a pain in the a$$, but is it doing any good? Seems like a person can come here with fraud as the key, claim the spouse is abusive, and still stay here, then we had that extensive lenghtly AOS stage to prove our intentions. Just sounds like a pile of BS to me and they are so damn slow, it also created a lot of undue stress and frustration,. Yes, I did talk about this personally to both Obey and Feigngold, but only 140,000 applications per year, and we have a damned war going on. Further wonder as to who is more important to our government?

We are still waiting, our file date is May 7, 2008. Does anyone know if they will automagically send another extension letter or do we need to make an Infopass apointment?

They would not send another extension letter "auto - magically" (it's a good make-up word). You will have to make an infopass appointment to get your valid unexpired passport stamped with the I-551 stamp about the last 1-2 weeks before your extension letter expired. You might as well also ask about your case while you're there to get the stamp. Hope you get the GC soon! Good Luck :star: !

If your case is not outside the time don't even bother, I've been waiting for 13 months now, and outside the dates, and they Can't do anything because they asked me to resubmit biometrics 4 weeks ago and that gives them more time in which they don't have to deal with me because I have to wait 60days after the bios before I can inquire again,

How nice ha!!!!!!!!
