Hello!!! everyone!

Just very depressed..this is regarding my problem last time.I changed status in my passport to my married name,a month before I learned from the lawyer my husband hired that the paper that was passed to the NVC was still in my maiden name,so that would automatically require that the passport that i should have be in my maiden name.I inquire about this at the DFA office, they said that I can no longer changed back my passport from married to maiden again.

I was hopefull this past few days because i thought if we just have to call NVC and the embassy and let them know they can tell us an option.Yes, we called NVC and they said ther is no problem.only they don't know how Philippine embassy reacts to it.It was like lifting me up and pulling me down feeling.

Just today, my husband informed me that the lawyer honestly informed him that WITH my husband's married name used in my new passport,it would be very difficult.I was shocked! becaiuse a lawyer should know what to do in this kind of cases..but it turned out the lawyer can't be of help..after all the time we've waited..i guess it's a dead-end for us already

(i already received a confirmation letter from the embassy stating i can call for an interview date,WE were almost to the finish line..but this bomb RUIN it!)

I am humbly asking for an advice to people here ..please..enlighten me..what else could I possibly do?

I need to hear any opinions about it or perhaps people who have experience the same situation..

Whatever advice you guys can give would be very helpful..Thank you!

I guess it wouldn't be a problem.. Just bring your old passport and explain everything to the CO.. I am sure that he/she would understand.. Goodluck..

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all that I am, in the only way I know how -- completely and forever......

Please, I need help! is it not necesssary to change my surname when i renew my passport etc.soon? we are confused.

We got married in Alaska last August 22. My husband is from Washington DC and i was a seafarer bound for Alaska. I went home(Philippines) for a vacation and my husband told me use his surname since i'm about to renew my seaman's book and passport.

We were asked to do a lot of things in order to change my surname so we started in Alaska and proceeded to Philippine Consulate of San Francisco. we have been waitng for 2 mos.just to get the registration no.but it turned out that it was just an authentication of our marriage certicate.

We are getting upset with this, we havent started anything and yet its already giving us a lot of stress.

Thank you so much!!!!!!

Send a letter to NVCInquiry@state.gov requesting to change your name at the petition, it happens to my friend before the same as your case request for an expedite to change your name at the petition before they send it to the Consulate abroad.

What happen to my friend was they filed the petition for K-3 using her maiden name, she actually received a packet from the embassy when she found out that the petition was under her maiden name and her documents using her married name so they request for an expedite to NVC to change it before her interview and they did she got approved!!! good luck..

Thank you so much!!!!!!

If you got married here in the US you need to report your marriage at the Phil. Consulate it needs three copies of the report of marriage form if you sending it by mail you need to notarize the form and pay for the return mail so that they send your copy back, then if you receive your copy of report of marriage I am not really sure how long it takes, but if you want to change your name into married name you need to file the (1.) amendments form (2.) passport application form (3.) copy of your report of marriage, you can download the form form the Phil Consulate website and you can find the respective payments at the form instructions also, you need a navy blue background ID picture also for passport renewal or amendments. good luck!!!
