Since most of the documentation for our marriage is in Spanish, and they require translation, is there an official translation service I have to use? How does that work? Can i just translate the documents myself and send in both copies?

For USCIS purposes, the translator need only be competant in both languages and sign a "statement" to the translation as such. No official translation bureau required for this.

YMMV

What i recommend u do is to use tranlation service. That way there will be no mistakes made.

After that may abt 3-4 copies and have them get CERTIFIED .

coz u'll need them in the future.

Yep, Per USCIS:

Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.

The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:

Certification by Translator

I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.

Signature_________________________________

Date Typed Name

Address

This can be a friend, all they need to do is certify it per the example provided.
