And you're talking to yourself in the 3rd person...

But interestingly enough that last bit really says a lot about how you see yourself doesn't it. You honestly think that you are better and *superior* to other people. I guess that explains the cartoonish views you seem to have on race issues.

the moniker is of your own choosing, my friend, and how apt it is.

Shooter, you started a thread implying that there is little support for an assault weapons ban. I've given you evidence that at least back when the issue was up before Congress the last time, there was wide support. So if you're going to play the game of just who supports what here, accept that I can play it too.

you've given me discredited tripe engineered in the waning days of the last ineffectual ban to attempt to engineer support for it's continuation. congress kept it's peace, in the end. since then, heller has spoken, and the new congress has agreed. the way it is.

You are defensive aren't you?

I must say I am interested in what my nationality has to do with anything, though I doubt I'll get a satisfactory answer from you, American.

Like it or leave. Interesting if juvenile reasoning.

just giving you a choice, friend. your prejudices are based on your country of acculturation. if you wanna be an American, you'll have to leave your english reasoning behind. if you just wanna stay a visitor, well, that's fine by me, too, but in that case, keep your thoughts about America to yourself.

The issue of bringing back the assault weapons ban is fairly recent, but those polls done in 2004 are telling and shouldn't be dismissed. The ban had wide support among carefully selected Americans chosen to provide a false impression that could be used for political manipulation.

fixed it for ya.

 Acculturation? FYI, I don't want to be an American, but I do want to be a citizen. I will keep my 'English' reasoning (whataver that's supposed to mean, as though reasoning is cultural, what a sketch you are) and even while being an English person, my thoughts about America are as valid as anyones.

Still, for amusement, you are one of my faves, keep it up!

so fell the roman empire, in the days in which the right of citizenship was sold for a few coins, and even the weak minded were admitted to the senate...

One thing seems certain Shooter - you have much the same cultural outlook as a citizen of ancient Rome - bigoted, xenophobic and utterly convinced of his own superiority.

Oh dear, not only do you think that people look up to you, but now you want to give lessons in English TV humour too? Except, you don't get it, at all. Hilarious.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

you need to crack a book more often, friend. such was not the character of citizens in the last days of rome. romans were quite happy to bring in divergent views, as long as the taxes came in. so the fall of the empire. rome was the most cosmopolitan of ancient cultures, thereby the most surely doomed. contrast with china. the divergence of chosen path is stark.

####### for tat Mr Shooter. None of which justifies your apparent assertion that there is only a place in a free society for the ideas and opinions that you personally deem to be acceptable.

In point of fact I find it interesting that you're so gung-ho for the second amendment, when it appears that you could care less for the First. Indeed if you had your way I suspect you'd have no problem with exercising your second amendment rights to squash others freedom of speech.

If I buy a gun, do I get a nice shiny pair of jackboots to go with it?

It was a pretty long-lived civilization Mr Shooter, I think you would do well to make fewer assumptions.

You might like to rethink your sentence structure for this post. Ah, forget it, you have no idea what you are talking about so I guess it's not surprising that this post is completely nonsensical even without the grammatical errors.

Most surely, as the self styled king of your castle, your work is never done. Chasing the lady is presumably part of her 'westernization' program

Sorry, I should say 'Americanization'. Western is too broad a brush.

It really is comical watching justashooter try to debate. He has the debate skills of Sean Hannity....... When in doubt, just keep insulting and saying the same thing over and over and just declare victory despite facts and common sense.

I seem to remember someone else here insist that the Roman Empire collapsed because its citizens were too "hedonistic", now its because of their immigration policy.

Actually the main reason for the collapse was quite simple - it just grew too big and unwieldy for the imperial system of government. The East-West split was what did it.
