Waiting For Case Completion At NVC

I am going to try really hard to not talk to NVC operator today. I want to give them a day of relief from me. Hopefully they'll have some real update for me instead of standard "4 to 6 weeks" response.

I am going to try really hard to not talk to NVC operator today. I want to give them a day of relief from me. Hopefully they'll have some real update for me instead of standard "4 to 6 weeks" response.

Hang in there Champi. I feel for you. They got our packet on Wed 8th Apr in the morning. I am sweating it out too.

I don't want to panic you but you mentioned earlier that you had not done your 2008 tax. I read a few weeks ago that someone who hadn't done their 2008 tax got a notice back telling them to lodge their tax before there case would proceed. So my husband filed his asap to get it in before we got the AOS to do. I really don't want to panic you but perhaps start working on this while you wait just in case - unless you have a joint sponsor.

I will pray that it all goes smoothly for all of us!

Thanks a bunch for heads up. I am not much worried about 08 taxes since I've send 05/06/07 tax transcripts. For all three years, I've been well above the required income for household of 2. Additionally, I've sent them my paycheck stubs till March 09 as well as employment letter which states that I've been employed there since 04 + salary + bonuses. Hopefully, all these should be more than sufficient to prove that I am financially capable. Isn't that the purpose of AOS anyway?

The reason I've not sent any 08 tax papers is because I am not going to file for 08 taxes, I am filing for extension. I was bit worried about them requiring 08 taxes during interview time, but I emailed our consulate in Chennai India where my husband will be interviewed, and they said they'll accept copy of extension papers with a latter from me (petitioner) explaining why I did not file taxes.

Let's hope I don't get RFE for 08 taxes. Now you gave me a reason to talk to NVC operator though. :-) I'll confirm with them.

You're right corinne. Just called operator and she did not say I've an RFE yet. But she said that if your case is still under review after April 15th, then they are going to request either a tax return or proof from IRS saying I've extension for everyone. Bummer! :(

You're right corinne. Just called operator and she did not say I've an RFE yet. But she said that if your case is still under review after April 15th, then they are going to request either a tax return or proof from IRS saying I've extension for everyone. Bummer! :(

Don't despair! Better to find out today than next week or week after. Start working on it now! Personally Champi, I would just file the tax return ASAP (I am assuming its just a normal return, I don't know much about IRS tax, my husband does all that) - They might get suspicious of extension. I just wouldn't give them any reason to delay you.

I guess I can officially join this thread now - I FedExed the package today so it will be on someone's desk tomorrow :innocent: I couldn't bear to check the thing again before sending - just hope and pray it's all in order and no RFEs will come my way. I just wanna know my husband's interview date so I can book my flight and go get him. :star:

Vivian, when NVC receives ur packets, it doesn't go sit on a desk right away. Ours was received on 03/30/09 and it wasn't delivered to a rep till 04/02 when it was finally entered into the NVC system. It all depends on how much mail they receive and how fast they can deliver the packets our of the mail room to the appropriate locations. Good luck! :star:

I know ... This face :innocent: was supposed to reflect wishful thinking. I'll be happy if someone takes a look at it next week. :star: What a long week it will be ...

i've talked to the operator a moment ago. she told me no RFEs as of friday, april 3. i am hoping it would stay that way. we are under review. 2 to 6 weeks. :))

Dated since 2004, 10/22/2008 Married in NY, wife left the country, returns on 01/06/2009 as a visitor (granted stay until July 2009)

01/15/2009 Sent I-130 package for CR1 to Chicago Lock Box, 01/19/2009 USCIS Chicago received the application

01/26/2009 USCIS sent out NOA1, 01/28/2009 Moneygrams Order cashed

02/24/2009 Case is in Vermont Processing Center (told by the USCIS by calling the free phone line)

03/02/2009 NOA2 mailed, application approved!!!! (47 days since we mailed I-130 package)

03/05/2009 NVC Received Case / Case number assigned

03/12/2009 DS-3032 / AOS fee bill generated and e-mailed to us, 03/12/2009 I e-mailed and snail mailed DS-3032 and paid AOS fee bill online

03/18/2009 NVC received DS-3032 and it was entered into the system (I never received email confirmation)

03/20/2009 IV Bill generated and I paid online

03/30/2009 Sent I-864 package to NVC, 03/31/2009 Sent DS-230 package to NVC

04/01/2009 IV fee shows unpaid, 04/03/2009 documents are under review (confirmed by operator)

04/06/2009 IV Fee finally shows PAID, 04/07/2009 AVR system says that IV bill has been processed, "instruction package" received by email

04/08/2009 AVR system says "NVC received your documents on April 3...", our case is under review...

04/10/2009 RFE issued for DS-230 Part I, but AOS accepted

04/14/2009 found out the exact issue with DS-230 and sent the response using Chris Parker's RFE shortcut and later in the day received an email checklist for RFE

04/15/2009 RFE response arrived to the NVC facility, 04/20/2009 RFE response received by NVC

04/23/2009 CASE COMPLETED, 06/02/2009 VISA RECEIVED

I am going to try really hard to not talk to NVC operator today. I want to give them a day of relief from me. Hopefully they'll have some real update for me instead of standard "4 to 6 weeks" response.

yesterday i called andtalked wid operator, on 3rd they sent letter about missing documents of our case. and we'd sent those documents.

now the operator still said they didn't received the documents.. ridiculous. we've fed ex receipt too...

i am going to call them again ...

Just trying to get an idea of how fast they will ask for more evidence. Please fill out ur timeline when u get a chance as it will help others :-)

Hoping that the review on our DS230 and IV bill is completed today and we hear the Magic words \"CASE COMPLETE\"

Sorry champi but after the meanie i got yesterday I can\'t help but respond with this: RELIEF???? WE NEED THE FREAKIN REFLIEFFFFFFFFFFF!!! :angry::unsure::whistle: I will keep calling until I get a satisfying answer. The nerve of that idiot hanging up on me when I am in the middle of my question!!! :angry: She\'s dreaming if she thinks I will stop calling just cz she got mean! Not this USC!! I was rmbing u champi how one of them made u cry. I felt the same way yesterday but all the more reason to not back off! We are so close to the finish line and they know it. I am starting to wonder if they are delaying all of us till the April 15th deadline on purpose so they would have to issue less case completes till then since they are backed up!! :angry:

Vivian, when NVC receives ur packets, it doesn\'t go sit on a desk right away. Ours was received on 03/30/09 and it wasn\'t delivered to a rep till 04/02 when it was finally entered into the NVC system. It all depends on how much mail they receive and how fast they can deliver the packets our of the mail room to the appropriate locations. Good luck! :star:

not uploaded? i m not getting you . can u tell me how long it takes to upload about the documents in system.. i ws thinkin may be it takes long to load in AVR but operator has most recent update... correct me if i m mistaken.....

in fact we'd not sent 2008 tax papers yet.. i dont know if they r plannin to give another RFE.... lol..

i hv no SSN so my hubby had filled one form to get some kindda ID .. but we've not get anthin like tht so our tax of 2008 is still due .....

its really frustrating when we're on the last step of process and it delayes by one or other reasons.

the wait seems endless now.. i now start thinking may be it won't be possible for may interview date..... still crossing our fingers and hoping for best ..

they asked for original BC,MC and DS-230 part 2.....

as we hv lawyer .. i dont get accurate dates but we'd sent last packet on 17th march.. then they sent letter on 3 april about missing documents to our lawyer..

and we sent originals ASAP... i think on same day.. now lawyer says he'd sent documents but yesterday i called NVC and the AVR and operator both still said documents are misssing and they'd sent letter to our lawyer...

i dont know whom should i believe.. so i m planning to call NVC again to make sure our documents are reached thr.....

I think they should be thinking the opposite. Try to get as many April case completed as possible so less pain to deal with in terms of phone calls, mails, data entry into system.... All these stuff is work on their part too, right? Only if they could do bit of future planning ;)
