Congrats K.D. & GS!!!! That's great....now for the interview date...come on NVC!!!!!! Please!! Oh & we got case complete 2 weeks ago & NVC sent us an e-mail last night requesting the IV fee to be paid...really??? I called NVC and the operator was like...oh just ignore that. Seriously???

I've to warn you about two things though. 1) Our cases only gets sent to Embassy after interview is scheduled. 2) There is no way (that I know of) to find out which package is yours. So, if you see two packages going to Bombay, India, no way to tell which one is yours or even if it is yours.

I agree. Our consulate did not agree to request the file since NVC has yet to assign an interview for us. So we will now wait till we have a K3 interview date then ask them again. Hopefully by then NVC would have given us the CR1 interview date so that we can get the file to the consulate for the K3 interview. I can't believe it's May 1st next week!! AWESOME!!!

I called NVC and talked to an operator too today & she was so rude...she was like "we don't schedule interviews until the second week of the month." I told her about you champi & she was so short with me..."you don't have an interview date!" Geez!

I'm Sorry for that Amanda, that's why I don't call and I wait for my husband to do it, that would totally ruin my day. But I think you are getting an interview date soon

I too noticed they hate it when we show we know more I think they know and are warned of VJers by their supervisors. The thing is they don't want us to know too much cz then we would be harrassing them more wanting to know when our interviews will be scheduled, whereas if we did not have VJ we would have waited till May 15th like other non-suspecting poor souls out there

I booked my flight yesterday to be with my husband for his interview - well, waiting outside anyway, checking he has everything he needs, straightening his tie, calming his nerves (and not showing mine) - and then bringing him home.

How are you solving the DS-230 application? Most of us in this thread have case completes which means we all already resolved this issue one way or another. So if others chime in you can hear various opinions.

Wife in China is no good with foreign language - English!

(also not good on computer) This is common. Usually people find some agency there who helps the beneficiary fill out the form correctly. They of course charge a small fee. If you notice some of the applications always have a question about the preparer of the form. Should your wife use this sort of service, the preparer's signature must appear on the form.

Does NVC send the form to her? NVC will send through snail mail and it will delay you significantly! Most of us got case completes and have yet to receive anything in the mail from NVC! So imagine if we did not have VJ or just listening to our stupid clueless attorneys we would still be here stuck!! I recommend u do everything online and give NVC ur email so that u will be emailed the bills and everything. May I ask where in the process u are? After u pay online, you can then follow the online instructions on the NVC website to get to the DS 230 and I 864 forms and instructions

(our agent is a lawyer, but how can he do it, right?) If this lawyer is in the United States then he can be the preparer I mentioned above and he should know how to do it. After all, you are NOT the only person whose DS 230 he filled out. I (the petitioner) had my attorney's secretary to do a call conference with me so she and I can fill it out on the computer. I then had her attach it to email and emailed it to hubby then all he did was print it, sign his name and date it and send it back directly to lawyer. The lawyer reviewed it one final time and sent in all of our forms DS230/ I 864 and other docs needed from us all together in the same envelope. But make sure u use the new DS 230 form the one that has -present in question 20 as most ppl got RFE from NVC for using the old form and for listing the year instead of present!!!

She completes the form and sends it to NVC (I can not check it?) See above.

Hear hear I would totally do the same and I can sooooo picture u Vivian Unfortunately, as much as hubby would have loved it (as well as me) I won't be able to be there But it's ok, I have the whole picking him up at the airport to look forward to. I can imagine my nerves. I know I will cry as soon as I c him and won't be believing my eyes that he is FINALLY here after this longgggggggg tiresome wait!! Can't wait!

Vivian, congrats on booking the ticket! You could go ahead and add ur stuff next to ur name as opposed to reposting and making champi go crazy with the updates. What do u think Champi?

See above urs is already done. Everyone else to post after me use the one I just revised with Vivian's info in it and feel free to add ur missing info directly into the text and please add date u found out about interview in relation to when it was shipped to consulate. Champi let me know if u would rather do it and I will gladly step back. I hope I am not stepping on ur toes (since u were the creator of this brilliant idea )

The weeks leading up to that are absolutely exhausting. I for one had a stress headache for several days. I don't plan to go over and obsess on the embassy thread - there are too many sad stories about the consulate my husband will be interviewing at. I feel we know enough now to just to slowly gather everything we need and try to be completely prepared but at the same time as relaxed as possible.

Hope the rest of your NVC stage will be short!

Does AVR say when our case is forwarded to the embassy? How can we tell?

Hi Amanda,

One way u can figure it out is by calling NVC and they will let u know if it was shipped and what date.

And then once u know it has, if u want to track it this is how. I found this on another thread a while ago so I am just reposting and by no means am I claiming I wrote this:

"NVC uses DHL to send the case files to the respective embassies. Here is how you can try to track your case files to the embassy:

1. Go to: http://www.dhl.com/

2. Select track by Reference, enter the info as follows:

EXP DD MMM YYYYA

EXP is constant

DD is the day the NVC said they shipped the case.

MMM is the three letters representing the month the NVC shipped the case

YYYY is the year the NVC shipped the case

A is constant

For example, if the NVC says they shipped the case on February 5 2009, this would be entered as "EXP 05 FEB 2009A".

3. Date range for shipment - From: Enter the date of the day NVC said they sent the case

4. Date range for shipment - To: Enter todays date

5. Once you enter the info, press "Start Tracking"

6. You will see a result page with a number of packages going out to different consulates/embassies. Look for your consulate/Embassy.

If you don't see a package with that reference number for your respective consulate, then try the day after.

On the tracking the way that it works is this: EXP 12 MAR 2009A means the package was prepared for shipment on 12 March. The pickup will typically be 1 or 2 days later. Cannot get a package named with a date before it was released. Once a packet is picked up on a certain day it is then available to track the next day. Mine was 09 MAR 2009B (only 1 package to HCM that day) but it was not picked up until 11 March and I could not see it until 12 March. "

When I was told by NVC our K3 was shipped to Lebanon on 04/14 we were not able to c it on DHL website until 04/15.
