Waiting For Case Completion At NVC

We will make it...it won't be as long as it has been. I know it is super hard though. Even though I try to keep myself busy...I still think about it ALL the time!!!

I just noticed that you got case complete on the 8th Apr- I am wondeing why you did not get interview for May as your case was complete in the 2nd week of the month?

You and me both Corinne. I was on the phone for like 30 minutes talking with a supervisor at NVC about how it all works...etc. There was someone on VJ that posted they got case complete the same day as me, same visa type, same embassy & they got a May interview date. A girl that got case complete the day before me had her May interview date scheduled the day after case complete. I was waiting so anxiously to get mine but it never came. They gave me all this b.s. that it is not "guaranteed" when you will get your date, "give me their case number and I will tell you what is different about it & that is why they got an interview date already." It infuriated me to the max! The girl that got case complete the day before me & the may interview date sent in her paperwork to USCIS 2 MONTHS AFTER we did and still wound up getting an interview date before us. It makes no sense to me and it makes me angry again just thinking about it!!!! I am hoping we will be the first in line for an interview date in June at the Amman embassy!!!!!

YAY, I just got the ERROR message on the NVC website. :dance: Does this mean I'm out of RFE danger, do you think?

It is a sign that your documents have been reviewed and probably complete, you may hear a missing document message on AVR. Just call NVC, chances are, they'll tell you it is not an issue or that you can bring the missing document to the interview. I've seen this happen to two VJ members this week so far...

Hmm, guess I won't get over-excited then. I think I'll wait to hear what the AVR says in the morning. If I speak to a rep tonight and hear something miserable, I won't sleep, and I've had such a hell of a work week, I think I'll try to stay positive tonight and deal with it tomorrow or Monday morning. I'm 99.9% sure nothing was missing - god knows how much I spent preparing those documents. :blink:

Don't worry Vivian...I had RFE on AVR for over a week & nothing was missing. I got the error message on the NVC payment website and within one or two days we got case complete. So hang in there...you're almost there!!!

Don't worry Vivian...I had RFE on AVR for over a week & nothing was missing. I got the error message on the NVC payment website and within one or two days we got case complete. So hang in there...you're almost there!!!

Thanks Amanda and Champi. I'll try not to freak out if the AVR says something RFEish. I know we've been really lucky so far - only 3 months since we filed. Could've been so much worse. Feeling like a marathon runner at the 25th mile :whistle:

Yep will do! I believe the AVR usually gets updated at their close of business. So I will check in a couple of hours, otherwise I will call them in the morning. So can I be safe in assuming there are no RFE's?

Corinne, I think at this point you are free from RFEs! For my no updates yet, I was really hoping that today my cause would be updated or something, I guess not. But as for you Corinne, I think you will get your case completed by tomorrow, usually people call the next day after they get that error message and find out it was completed. :) Congratulations.

HELP! HELP! HELP!

I just called the NVC to hear the AVR and it said that the documents have been reviewed and there are some missing and that they have sent a letter to us on the 16th April????? How can this be when I cannot log into the payment website and when I spoke to an operator this morning, she said they have all the documents and to call back Monday for a final update??????

HELP! I AM FREAKING OUT !!!! :crying: :crying: :crying:

How incredibly annoying, Corinne. I guess all you can do is call in 45 minutes when they open and see if you can find out what it is that's "missing". Why don't they email these things! As soon as you find out, you can jump on it and get it sorted out. Really, it's like being tortured ... nearly there, nearly there, oops, not yet ... Tell us what they say anyway.

No news at my end...

After I wrote the post I went back and read this whole thread again. NVC is known for false RFE, so I am hoping - fingers and toes crossed that it is a false RFE. I have set my alarm to remind me to call in about 40 minutes. I will post an update as soon as I speak to them. By the way, they said they emailed us the RFE but we have not received anything yet - so I am hoping its a false RFE!!!!

Don't worry Corinne....AVR said that for over a week on our case...called the operator & she said don't worry we have everything we need. Your case will be complete soon. AVR isn't very reliable! Hang in there!

Well, I just got off the phone with the NVC. The operator said that they have all the documents they need. She said the AVR says that message because the SYdney Embassy does not have a copy of my police certificate. I told her that NVC request the original from me, so how can the embassy have it anyway. She said not to worry, they have everything they need and they are just waiting on an interview date which they should have in the next couple of days. So then I asked her will my interview be in May and she said No, they are scheduling June interviews. So I said to her, do I just wait 4 weeks for nothing. She said to call back after 15th May and Hopefully ( I can't believe she said Hopefully) that they can fit me in for June. I then said to her that I can contact the Sydney Consulate and see if they can fit me in and she said no, do not contact them.

I AM OUTRAGED! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR INTERVIEWS IN JUNE! ITS NOT FAIR THAT PEOPLE WANTING TOURIST OR WORK VISAS GET PRIORITY OVER US. WE HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FROM OUR LOVED ONES, YET PEOPLE GOING IN FOR HOLIDAYS CAN GO GET THERE VISA AND WE HAVE TO WAIT! MY HUSBAND IS OUTRAGED AT THIS.

HELP! SHOULD WE CONTACT THE CONSULATE? OR SHOULD MY HUSBAND WRITE TO THE SECRETARY OF STATE EXPRESS HIS DISGUST? :ranting: :ranting: :ranting:

Finally!!! The AVR says that our case was complete on April 17th!!!!Finally they fixed the AVR. Still hoping for May interview!!!!

Though a Case Complete message on the AVR this morning would've been a bonus, but :no: I was trying to explain to my husband how the word "failed" on the website is a good thing which somehow summed up how bizarre this whole process is. :star:
