Waiting For Case Completion At NVC

Yep will do! I believe the AVR usually gets updated at their close of business. So I will check in a couple of hours, otherwise I will call them in the morning. So can I be safe in assuming there are no RFE's?

Corinne, I think at this point you are free from RFEs! For my no updates yet, I was really hoping that today my cause would be updated or something, I guess not. But as for you Corinne, I think you will get your case completed by tomorrow, usually people call the next day after they get that error message and find out it was completed. Congratulations.

I just called the NVC to hear the AVR and it said that the documents have been reviewed and there are some missing and that they have sent a letter to us on the 16th April????? How can this be when I cannot log into the payment website and when I spoke to an operator this morning, she said they have all the documents and to call back Monday for a final update??????

How incredibly annoying, Corinne. I guess all you can do is call in 45 minutes when they open and see if you can find out what it is that's "missing". Why don't they email these things! As soon as you find out, you can jump on it and get it sorted out. Really, it's like being tortured ... nearly there, nearly there, oops, not yet ... Tell us what they say anyway.

After I wrote the post I went back and read this whole thread again. NVC is known for false RFE, so I am hoping - fingers and toes crossed that it is a false RFE. I have set my alarm to remind me to call in about 40 minutes. I will post an update as soon as I speak to them. By the way, they said they emailed us the RFE but we have not received anything yet - so I am hoping its a false RFE!!!!

Don't worry Corinne....AVR said that for over a week on our case...called the operator & she said don't worry we have everything we need. Your case will be complete soon. AVR isn't very reliable! Hang in there!

Well, I just got off the phone with the NVC. The operator said that they have all the documents they need. She said the AVR says that message because the SYdney Embassy does not have a copy of my police certificate. I told her that NVC request the original from me, so how can the embassy have it anyway. She said not to worry, they have everything they need and they are just waiting on an interview date which they should have in the next couple of days. So then I asked her will my interview be in May and she said No, they are scheduling June interviews. So I said to her, do I just wait 4 weeks for nothing. She said to call back after 15th May and Hopefully ( I can't believe she said Hopefully) that they can fit me in for June. I then said to her that I can contact the Sydney Consulate and see if they can fit me in and she said no, do not contact them.

I AM OUTRAGED! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR INTERVIEWS IN JUNE! ITS NOT FAIR THAT PEOPLE WANTING TOURIST OR WORK VISAS GET PRIORITY OVER US. WE HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FROM OUR LOVED ONES, YET PEOPLE GOING IN FOR HOLIDAYS CAN GO GET THERE VISA AND WE HAVE TO WAIT! MY HUSBAND IS OUTRAGED AT THIS.

I am also in the same situation as you. I spoke to an operator about an RFE on AVR. They said they will be completing my case soon and my wife needs to show a document at the interview and she will be ok. Anywy, we are also going to be getting an interview in June. It is so bad but we really cant do anything about it., Hang in there. I want to see if I can write to my congressman, I need to figure out how to do that again.

Sadly and unfortunately, I think we've all missed the May Interview train. It had made me really depressed for past 2 days. Paying a penalty of a month for being behind a week is cruel. I guess we just have to believe that they're trying their best..

For both times I called NVC after case completion, they wouldn't even tell when my interview will be scheduled. I said, I know I may be late for May but I should get one in June, right? But they wouldn't confirm that. I guess they are taught not to say when..

Anyways, I am still happy that NVC scare is over for you and they'll go ahead and complete your case.. Just enjoy the case completion milestone

Don't get me started on the injustice of making US permanent residents wait in a 5-year queue to petition their spouses, which is what I went through. Anyway, glad it was a false alarm, Corinne. Once your interview's scheduled, won't hurt to call at some stage and see if there's been any cancellations so you can go in earlier.

I just noticed that you got case complete on the 8th Apr- I am wondeing why you did not get interview for May as your case was complete in the 2nd week of the month?

I think they should complete people's case and assign an interview date right away! It sucks we have to wait so long!

i agree with you gixbr.... since last 14 months we are waiting ... and as the journey is reaching towards we're getting more impetient... its more depressing and disturbing now.. .. at least NVC people should consider it now....

its hard to keep calm and this all create more tension in relationship... and after all this in interview they check the strengt of our relation with spouse... lol they should not ask question about it and just give away our visa becoz if we can be with each other for more than one year on these hasty, rough way of NVC journey than i guess we can be together in any condition..

prayer to god for all of us who is stuck at the last step of journey.... hope we all get interview call ASAP....
