Hey atk_721,

Congrats!!!! Final Review lasts a day or two, if I am not mistaken. You may want to post this question on the interview waiting posts as well. Couple of them have received 'final review' answers from NVC.

As for the may interview, the same VJ members in Interview waiting thread got answers from NVC operators this morning that interview schedule for May is closes.

champi, so is it really true that they have a due date for scheduling interviews? I always thought that it would be people assuming what NVC would do.

So we probably are only gonna have our interviews done in June?

that would suck. well, I shouldn't complain tho, at least we are taking the last steps.

It all depends on how busy your embassy / Consulate is.

I'm not sure I understand - if an embassy still has interview slots available in May, wouldn't they keep filling them until May is full? Wouldn't it depend on how busy each embassy is? Why move on to June if they can still fit people into May? If the NVC says "May is closed," does that mean the NVC doesn't start making the next round of appointments (for June) until the first two weeks of May?

Don't know what the RFE is for. Just got this AVR message this morning: NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete...now i have to wait until Monday to figure out what it is that's missing...something with AOS package or DS-230...not sure.

oceansea1: The RFE could be becos your AOS was accepted and they are still reviewing your DS230.

AVR was reporting RFE on our case as well for the very same reason...don't panic yet

I agree with Serendipity_

Hows everyone doing? I finally figured out how to file taxes which would allow me to make accurate estimates to file 2008 tax extension :D This weekend feels just too long. I really want some progress on Monday but at the same time, I don't want RFE ;) Have a Happy Easter every one :)

I also agree. AVR states they have received our biographic forms and that they are still waiting for AOS. HELLO??? They were both sent in the same envelop :bonk: Operator said AVR is not always updated properly and to not rely on it 100%. I was told to ignore it.

Champi, what do u plan on doing? I am filing mine as single come Monday. Man, I can't wait till the new week starts. This weekend seems longer than usual since I was off on Friday. I keep thinking it's Sunday today  A few more hours till Sunday anyways...Maybe if I sprinkle some lucky stars around, we can all move along super fast! :star::star::star::star::star:

Hi GS4EVER,

Haven't heard from you since Saturday. Everything ok at your end? Did you hear anything back from NVC?

I have been away all weekend visiting my family for Easter. Thanks for asking, Champi :) I just called them, same response, we just received ur docs on April 2nd, allow 2-4 weeks for review... blah blah blah

Hi guys

I called NVC today as was told that No more doucments needed from my side and the case is under FINAL REVIEW.According to the operator my IV payment issue is not holdong up my case and she said ,she spoke to her supervisor and It will be updated by tommorrow.

My question is how long is this FINAL REVIEW on average and is it too late to get a May interview now??

Thanks in advance for your reponses.

'atk_721' - You should be done NVC this week (wednesday - thursday)

Hopefully all our cases are in final review as well. Good Luck everyone

That is what I am hoping, that one day we will call and all of a sudden they say "Surpriseeeeee case complete!" I would much rather get that than hear final review for a week!!

I agree that some of us still have a chance for a May interview depending on how fast our case is completed and based on consulate availability. Still hoping though more of a wishful hoping :innocent::innocent::innocent:

I was able to find this information on our consulate website (http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/appointment_schedule.html). I quickly tried to look at Naples, Italy consulate site but couldn't find it (http://italy.usembassy.gov/visa/default.asp). Maybe someone from same embassy as you can answer your question.

This is just my hypothesis from the way I saw them work, but for May interviews, NVC get list from embassies of slots available in late March/ eary April, then NVC schedule interviews for May in 2nd week of April. After 2nd week of April is over, NVC moves on to June interviews. They will schedule June interviews for most in 2nd week of May.

For people who had their case complete in time for May interviews but did not get a spot due to limited slots in their embassy, they may get a June date by late April and may not have to wait until mid-May.

For people who had their case complete after the 2nd week of April and their embassy had spots available for May, NVC cannot really go back to schedule May interviews for them. NVC is done with May interviews after 2nd week of April and will schedule for June.

The only way you may get a May interview if you missed deadline with NVC is to ask Embassy directly to bump you up if the Embassy has spots available. Note that I have not seen too many cases of embassies agreeing to this as most embassies defer to the NVC and are busy/filled, or they require a good reason why you can't wait (other than I've been waiting a freaking year!!!! )

thanks and may you all have case complete soon :)

Not all embassies gives out interviews scheduled lists publicly, depends on the country. For Bangladesh, embassy is very secretive and irresponsive, not to mention incompetent. Hard to get any info about your own case directly, forget about public postings.

Note that I have not seen too many cases of embassies agreeing to this as most embassies defer to the NVC and are busy/filled, or they require a good reason why you can't wait (other than I've been waiting a freaking year!!!! )

Thanks for the explanation, HSB. I think I understand. The Casablanca US consulate website specifically states not to request to move an appointment forward. From what I've read, they're famously unfriendly - I wouldn't even try. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. Case not even completed yet. At least it's Monday. I now love Mondays! :pop:
