Hi there VJ!!

First off I would like to say to everyone thank you for your continuing support! We are finally able to send out our AOS! Fee and all, thanks to some angels (they know who they are) :star:

So now we're getting everything together to send the AOS. Everything is fine except that damn affidavit of support. It has to be the most confusing thing ever! We had it put together once, then I lost my job, we needed a sponser, had too put it together again and now I'm just completely lost!

Here's our general situation:

I had a job in 2008 but lost it in october (08). I have since been unemployed. I know that I have to have a joint sponser for this unemployed time. My sister offered to be a joint sponser. She claimed 3 dependents for 2008 taxes (she just got married 2 weeks ago if that means anything) She made $26,000 for 2008 but just received a salary increase in the beginning of march, and now her salary is 36,000. So my questions begin:

How do I count her of household number? Do I include me in her household? or him? (we certainly don't live with my sister)

Will her income for 2008 be enough? Even though she just got a raise (we have a letter from her employer stating new salary)

Who fills out the Affidavit? Me OR her, or me AND her? If we both need to fill it out, do we do two seperate 864 forms or just one?

Does my husband have to fill out the 864-A with my sister ( I have no idea what the 864-A is for)

What evidence do I need to show (since I'm now unemployed) and what does she have to show?

I know that this post has a ton of questions, but I only trust you guys with the answers!!!

Thanks so much, if you need to know anything else please let me know!

We wish everyone peace, happiness, and speedy processing for all!!

Hi there VJ!!

How do I count her of household number? Do I include me in her household? or him? Just him (he's the beneficiary)

Will her income for 2008 be enough? Depends where you live, but yes - you can check the level here I-864P

Even though she just got a raise (we have a letter from her employer stating new salary) That is good!

Who fills out the Affidavit? Me OR her, or me AND her? If we both need to fill it out, do we do two seperate 864 forms or just one? Seperate

Does my husband have to fill out the 864-A with my sister ( I have no idea what the 864-A is for) No, sponsors fill them out.

What evidence do I need to show (since I'm now unemployed) and what does she have to show?
