HI! Today I have had my aos interview based on my marriage. The interview was fine and the officer very nice. The officer told me that he will try to ask for my green card today. I have two questions:

- How long it will take until I have some update on-line.??

- He asked me for my birth certificate and I have just realized that I still have the birth certificate with me, he didn´t take it...or maybe I took it accidentally when I was grabbing all the papers from the table????Do they take the birth certificates at the interview( even when it was already submitted) or they only want to see it like they do with the passports???

THANK YOU!!!!!

Varies - You will probably get the letter before you see an update online.

Can't answer that, as the Officer can ask/look for anything. Did he look at it when he asked for it?

THANK YOU!!!!!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I agree -- the letter will get there before the online update, if there is in fact an online update. The green card will arrive a week or ten days later. I'm sure the interviewer looked at the birth certificate and that's all that was needed. After all, a copy of it is already in your file.

Congratulations!
