For a Muslim marriage to be recognised in British law it must be held at a mosque registered as a place for the solemnisation of marriage. As long as the mosque you got married in is registered then your wife should be able to go to the registrars office for that local authority and request a copy of your marriage certificate as the mosque will have registered it with them.

unfortunately that mosque is not registerd, what are my options here the 1-30 is approved and NVC is waiting for 1 peice of document.

If you live anywhere near the US East coast, fly over on a Thursday evening, call in sick, hold a civil ceremony on Friday, get the certified certificate, back on Monday morning for work.

Is that a possibility with your current financial situation?

Just a thought.

In order for me to fly over to england and do a civil ceremony i'll require a fiance visa for uk ,and if i manage to get a fiance visa for uk which seems little hard, well NVC consider that civil cermony a sufficient proof of evidence since the I-130 was approved already for my wife on the basis of islamic marriage certificate.

Unfortunately ou have to have a valid marriage when you file. You can't file and then get married as previously suggested. If they find your marriage invalid you may have to start over.

An Oath Commissioner is not a marriage registrar. From what you have told us you are not legally married, only religiously and thus filed for the wrong visa.

Bye: Penguin

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Registered mosques in the UK do not register a marriage certificate for the couple. The couple needs to get it registered in person, even if they married in a registered mosque. The mosques are registered, meaning they are licensed to perform marriages, but do not actually register the marriage certificates. The couple needs to take care of that.

Kenza, for visiting purposes only, a USC does not need a visa to visit the UK, BUT...the OP is intending to go to the UK to get married, therefore he needs a fiance visa to go to the UK.

to the OP: A fiance visa for the UK is a MUCH MUCH MUCH faster process than the USA fiance visa process...if it is an option you can consider, don't rule it out!
