Hello everyone,

I got in the states with K-3 visa. I am planning to send my AOS forms and related docs by the weekend. Please give me an advise on my SSN. when i was a student in the states in 2003 i was given a social security number by the school.. of course i wasn't able to work..but i had it.. I wrote my SSN on the AOS forms, but should i write any explanation (i don't know where though).. do you think this confuses them? What would you recommend? Thanks in advance!

Yes, if you have it - use it!

It will not confuse them.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

No explanation needed.

When SSA issues a person a number it is issued for life. After getting green-card go to SSA and get their status updated, and the card replaced with one without notation.

One note: Many on K-3 wait until close to 2 years of marriage to file I-485, if the AOS is approved after 2 years of marriage the resulting green-card will be un-conditional 10 year card.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
