Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Everyone that had read sirdrexel's thread from last week - about his fiancee' arriving at her POE in Detroit, but never reaching her final destination, she appears to be ok. She's made contact with her fiance via an email. It appears that it wasn't planned, but she just got cold feet. There's no telling where she is at, but at least her fiance can find peace knowing that she is ok.

It's sad to see this happening to anyone, but after talking with Lamon (USC), I could understand the woman's anxiety and frustration. He realizes and regrets a lot. Anyhow, hopefully he can put this all behind him and learn from the experience. I wish him well.

Sounds like he's not going to lose much. If she were a decent woman she'd have made a effort to see him personally and work things out instead of leaving him hanging and worrying.

THe OPs fault also for not getting to know his fiance better. You are seeing more and more long distance relationships "crashing" when the beneficiary gets to the US.

I think she just want to have a vacation here!!!!wow!!! where she get the money to pay him back? Is she rich in the philippines?? or try to look for more big fish at the pacific ocean? sorry...but hate girls like her.

I agree. Something smells fishy in the Pacific. But political correctness doesn't allow most liberals to be as honest as us.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

No, some people don't make assumptions when they don't know any facts. You should try that, it's really good for the blood pressure.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Its all about the details, of which you don;'t have enough of to make that assumption. Trust that Steven knows more and is objective in his assesment of the situation. He said its more complicated than we realise and that both parties have some culpability. Its nothing to do with political correctness.

As Steven said, from talking to Lamon, he could understand her anxiety, yet right wingers jump to conclusions and make false assumptions. Maybe Rush could explain everything to you?!

Damn, that is sad. It still does look like a scam, I mean, doesn't seem she took off alone, but at least she did contact him so he won't worry for her. Thanks for the update.

IMO, Lamon would be better off to not jump to that conclusion - and realize they both made some bad decisions and leave it at that.

Thanks for the update Steven, and for being helping Lamon out. Do you know if she will return back to the PI, or just become another illegal? If she truly got cold feet, then I would think she would return home, and not make the same mistake again.

She didn't reveal where she was or what she'll do, but apologized to Lamon and said she would find a way to pay him back for all the expenses. It's a sad situation all around, but at least he can move forward and has no responsibility to her at this point. I think he's hoping that she'll come around to marrying him. I hope for the best for both of them.

You're jumping to conclusions.

yes. you know how much time, money and effort to process a visa. it takes years to get approved. now that you are at the POE you will change your mind?? I am a filipina and i dont like on what she did to her fiancee. i am sad it happened to Lamon. i hope this will be a lesson not only to him but to everyboby.

I am glad there is no foul paly, but I am still worried that she had the means and opportunity to slip away the way she did. A new immigrant in a strange country? Not even I would venture away from the airport in Detroit, of all places! Something still does not add up to just cold feet.

Perhaps she didn't know any better? Besides, not everyone is a whimp in a foreign country :)

True, but isn't a little convenient that she got her case of cold feet AFTER getting thru Immigration in an airport where her fiance wouldn't be picking her up?!

I think there was definitely fault on both sides.
