Hi, I'm married to a USC and will be eligible to file for citizenship by August 22 this year (3 years). I have a 10 yr. old daughter from a previous marriage. When I apply for citizenship does she become eligible also? Also when exactly can I send to paperwork? Is it 90 days prior to my AOS approval anniversary date?

90 days from the latest qualifying date (3 years of marriage, 3 years as LPR, 3 years of spouse being a USC). For most, the latest date is the three years of being an LPR.

AFAIK, minor child gets citizenship automatically when you finish the naturalization process...

Yes 2 ways for child to obtain citizenship, if child is in the USA as an immigrant, the child will become a citizen when you become a citizen, OR US Citizen Step Parent can Adopt the child, and the child will get citizenship through adoption. In either case an N-600 will be filed for child's citizenship papers.

Note: If step parent adopts child BEFORE removal of conditions, this eliminates having to pay extra for the child's removal of conditions.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Do you need to file for an N-600 if you plan on obtaining a US passport for your minor?

No need either but one or the other are a way of proving having US citizenship.

I got a US PP for my adopted daughter but not a N-600 certificate of citizenship yet. Not ready to deal out the $420 required yet. So far we haven't needed to prove my 11 year old daughter is a US citizen.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!
