I am in shock. My stepdaughter was approved for the greencard without an interview, after adjusting from the Visa Waiver Program. I can't believe it.

I'm so happy for her. She's been through a lot and the stress of the interview was something she just didn't need.

Thanks everyone for your advice and help along the way. :)

i had my interview july 30, the woman 'verbally' approved us: she said she just had to wait on the name check back in NZ, apparently NZ police aren't part of the whole interpol thing, so the police clearance takes a lot longer. she said it would take between one and two months. it's now been 2 months and no green card. should i be concerned? what's the next step? should i call USCIS?

07-10-2008 entered US on J-1 visa

01-01-2009 officially engaged

04-06-2009 married

04-25-2009 filed AOS

05-22-2009 biometrics appointment

06-05-2009 EAD received

06-17-2009 NOA2 received

07-30-2009 interview- recommended for approval! GC expected in 1-2 months

10-21-2009 received NOA for the I-130: "your petition is approved but... the applicant for whom you are petitioning is not eligible to file for an adjustment of status at this time". still no GC :(

11-18-2009 welcome letter received!

12-01-2009 green card received!

september 2011 filed for removal of conditions

october 2011 biometrics appointment

december 2011 RFE received

january 2011 sent in RFE packet

february 2011 conditions lifted, 10 year green card received

Congratulations! I applied for aos in late June and am panicking right now as I got no gc yet. Did you contact them or did you just wait it out?

Any word on your GC yet? Are there any other April filers still waiting on their GC's?

03/15/2012 -Received letter from USCIS - have to go to interview April 24th

We had our interview on September 28 and were approved and today we got an email saying CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!!

YAY!!!

Our process seems to be taking longer than most, but at least we are moving along. We should have the green card soon!

To rubyred: we also got a "verbal" approval at our interview and then it took over a month just to get notice that they had ordered card production. I don't think its anything to get anxious about, but I totally understand you getting nervous. We were about to make an infopass appointment to try and find out why it was taking so long (our interviewer said it could take up to 30 days to receive notice of approval, and when the 30 days passed we started getting nervous). Anyway, the whole name check thing can definitely slow things down (we waited over a year and a half for the K1 visa). It can't hurt to call USCIS.

I hope everyone else gets their green cards soon!
