We got good news and bad news yesterday.

Got an email saying EAD and AP had been approved on June 19 and card production has been ordered!

So yesterday, when we received an envelope in the mail from Homeland Security. We were thinking it was the AP or EAD and were so excited....But when we opened it, it was a notice informing us our interview had been cancelled!!!

No explanations, just one line saying due to "unforeseen circumstances", the interview had been cancelled and we should wait to hear from them for further action on our case.

Has anyone heard of this happening?

The super good news is that our son was born last week, June 14!!!

congrats he is adorable!!!

Ditto! He is soooo cute. That's ccrazy that they cancelled the interview. No sure what to think.

Congrats on the new baby!!! No idea what's going on with your case or why the interview would be canceled. Maybe it will just be rescheduled.

I did some more digging around on VJ to see if other people had their interviews cancelled, and it looks like its a common occurrence. We will go to the original interview date anyway (per suggestions from other VJers) so they don't consider our case abandoned. It looks like they cancel interviews fairly often for a variety of reasons, usually due to some internal issue like staffing, but the local office doesn't always get the cancellation notice from NVC. Phew! I was starting to get scared for a minute there.

Hi! just wanna share i got my EAD card yesterday. Im very happy. Now SS office and DMV! Congrats to those who got theirs too.

I dont have any touches for GC since May 13, hope that they will approve it soon and that I'm done with USCIS for a while....

I went to the DMV today (yesterday I finally received my SSN card with my married name) and after 2 hours of waiting the lady told me she couldn't proccess me cuz my immigration still have maiden name? What the hell...my EAD is in my married name!! So now I have to go to this other office, take all my immigration document so they can verify my immigration status!! This is soooooooooooo frustrating! I just hope everything is fine my my AOS application!

Btw congratulation on all the new Interviews and EAD and to Kelah and Ramiro for their adorable babyboy!

Just a note on the last post. When I was talking to the guy from the drivers license authority he said I should rather come when I have my gc as he could then just hand me out a US DL without another test. I don't know whether this true only for certain countries but he said with me using only the K1 I would have to have another dl test and the dl would only be temporary... Don't ask. I will just do what he said and then post here what happened.

I saw when I went to do my driving test that people from germany doesn't have to do test cause Florida has some agreement with Germany and they give you FL driving licence when u show your own.

When I was talking to the guy from the drivers license authority he said I should rather come when I have my gc as he could then just hand me out a US DL without another test. I don't know whether this true only for certain countries but he said with me using only the K1 I would have to have another dl test and the dl would only be temporary... Don't ask. I will just do what he said and then post here what happened.

Probably, but driving test is really easy and cheap. I remember when I was doing my driving licence at Croatia I had to do 3 weeks of lessons and 30 hours with instructor and pay a lot for driving school and tests.

Here I payed 27 dolars and I was done in less then hour.

I know what you talking about... over 1200 Euros for mandatory lessons and driving lessons plus written and road test.
