Yesterday we received a letter for our interview!!! July 28.

Now if we would just hear something on the EAD and AP!

Chibby, bummer on the spreadsheet. Thanks so much for keeping it updated.

Congratulations on the interview date !!!

At least it was a July date, I have noted that they have already started issuing dates in August, as of this week, so it appears that most of the July dates are now taken.

Make sure you have all the backup docs with you, especially those that deal with evidence of a bona fide relationship/marriage.

Your EAD should come very soon now, ours came two weeks after we had notice of our interview date. But remember you will turn the EAD in to the IO, at interview time.

Our interviews are this next week, will keep all of you posted.

Best wishes to all !!!

Heyy Chibby, sorry about the spreadsheet...so instead of trying to update it mysel (which i have no clue how to do it) can you update it for me? I really appreciate all the work you've done! thank you...

Ok, so i go my biometrics done on may 21st and today June 12 i received my EAD on the mail :) :)

Hopefully I’ll get my interview date soon!

Lol, I didn't want to be intimidating or something. I was just frustrated this morning, because we all put time and work in it. Updating is really easy, go to the spreadsheet, click on the "Edit this page" link in the lower left corner, then a new tab/window opens and you can edit the sheet. Just put your data in and it saves automatically, you can just close it after you made your changes. It updates within a couple of minutes. :star:

Tihana_12, congratulations, it's finally on it way! Good luck with the job hunting.

Thanks Chibby!

Well good news we got the interview letter yesterday. It will be July 23, 3 days after our 2nd Anniversary. We have the copy of what we submitted to bring to the interview along with a few of those items of a bonafide marriage. I have a few questions, it states to bring my divorce degree along with my custody paper for my children? I do not have a separate custody paper for my children from my previous marriage, I have only the complete divorce document that is like 50 pages! Does anyone know if there is a supplemental for this or is that okay to bring? Thanks!

That 'list' of items to bring is very generic, for both K-1's and us K-3's. As a K-3 filer, we were each submitted to an extensive background check in the US and in the home country prior to issuance of the two year visa. Therefore, I do not think they will ask for the divorce papers, from so long ago, as this was all verified and checked off, early on in the process for us that married in the foreign country and are now filing for adjustment.

If you are still worried, I think only the face page or first two pages and officials signature page is needed. Again, the same with your K-4 child, this was all verified by USCIS and DOS before they issued the visas.

Also remember, if married over two years at interview time, it will be a permanent, 10 year visa, not the two year conditional version !! I made sure my filing for AOS had a large notation to this effect on the face page. I think this is what provided us with a fast interview date?

Just my opinion, and based on interview feedback from others who are K-3 and or CR-1. ;)

One question for you guys.

I already have a SSN number and need to get this changed to my married last name. At the SSN Office they told me I could do this once I have my EAD as it is then changed with DHS. SO now I would like to get this done (as I have my EAD) however since I am working I can't make it to the opening hours (9am-4pm). Can I send it all in via mail??? Did anyone here ever do this? I read the instructions and apparently it seems possible I just don't really know if this counts for non USC too and what kind of evidence I have to put with the letter.

Help would be appreciated! :)

I'd give it a try. Make a copy of your marriage certificate and your EAD and sent it to them with a formal letter requesting to change it to your married name.

My hubbie is waiting on his Green Card - AOS from a fiance visa. The fiance visa expired in February, but we filed for the AOS in late March.. Is there a problem getting a drivers license? I didn't know if we had to wait until he received his green card before he tried getting his license. We live in Connecticut, any advice?

While each state has its own rules/regulations, most want only to understand that the applicant in here legally. Your K-visa/Form I-94 with valid dates will most likely suffice. Cannot say for sure with your DMV, but that is the way it is in Calif. You might check with Conn. DMV website or call on Monday.

All of our forms do show up online. 485 shows the case resumed processing on May 21, after receiving our response to the RFE. There's been no updates on that at all. I haven't even received any emails. So we were really surprised to get a letter in the mail.

EAD and AP were last touched May 11, one day after our RFE was mailed, and it's just the generic response: on April 13th we received your application, it's at our service center and will be processed in the order it's received. It's just been 3 weeks since they received the RFE. I think we're going to wait another week before calling.

Thanks everyone for the congrats! Our appointment is at 8 am. I think we're the first ones that day!

Hey Shelly,

We are so happy for you guys.. Just like with the rest of our timeline, we seem to have got the INITIAL Interview Date together.. Ours is on:

Monday, July 27 2009 @ 10 A.M. !!

GODDDDDDDDDD..I just hope everything goes well..

To be frank, I was shocked to see this Interview Letter Dated 10 June in the mail box, cos its not 6 months yet ! But then I realized this is probably just the Request for Applicant to appear for "INITIAL INTERVIEW"..

Anyone out there having a similar experience of Initial Interview ??
