AOS Filers: April 2009

I just did some research again on this I-6xx(don't remember exactly) that you should use for AOS instead of teh vaccination worksheet that they handed to you for the K1 Medical and found this in the visajourney FAQ:

Q: Why are K non-immigrant visa holders asked to include a vaccination supplement when filing Form I-485 to adjust status?

Some countries allow K non-immigrant visa applicants to defer their vaccinations until after they arrive in the U.S. If the beneficiary's vaccinations were not completed as part of the visa process, it is necessary to include form I-693- part 1, part 2-vaccination section, and part 5 in the application.

If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693 IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693.

So actually, I guess I should be ok since I had all my vaccinations completed for the medical...But who knows...

That makes sense...

Oh, I already mailed my AOS this afternoon with confirmation receipt. ;)

No need to wait after you are married with sending in the paperwork. In most cases collecting it just takes some time.

Yes, you need a copy of the non USC's birth certificate.

Thanks for the feedback. That is a bummer about the Birth Cert. He has two different birth certificates(two different regions of Nicaragua) but the one we have is not the one we submitted in the first round of paperwork. I guess I will submit that and see what happens it matches the info on his G-325a Sounds like I better get started. I can't believe I have to do more paperwork.

So now we've sent them in, can we track them online using the A number? Anyone know where to look? I tried USCIS website but it said the number was not long enough.... Thanks

I don't think you can track it with your A-number, you need your case number. It should be on the NOA 1; soon as you get it you can go back to the USCIS website and check on your petition, I guess.

hey everybody!

I hope I can join you April Filers soon! Our wedding date is the 13th of April and I try to get all the papers together...

I hope someone can answer my 2 questions... on the G-325A in the upper right corner it says "File Number" and then an "A". Does it mean my Alien Regristration Number?

I have almost all my vaccinations, just missing the 2nd (which will be done this month) and 3rd HPV shot... do I still have to to file the I-693??

Wish you all a nice weekend!! :)

1. The File number where it says "A" is where your alien registration number goes :)

2. yes, you do have to send in a I-693 since you haven't completed the vaccination requirements yet. If one vaccination series is still in progress, they'll give you the "Insufficient time interval" waiver, so you don't have anything to worry about. When is your 2nd hpv shot due? Actually i think you only need one hpv shot to start the AOS.

Hey everyone!

It's nice to see some familiar faces on here :) We got married March 28th and will be submitting my husband's AOS before the end of April! We had a little setback because when my husband (then fiance) went through the POE of entry the immigration officer forgot to give him an I-94 number! With all of the wedding hub bub and traveling we didn't notice this little slip up until a week ago when we tried to get his SSN..... we had to go back to border control in the Logan Airport to get the number. Anyway....everything is pretty much in order except the affidavit of support--gotta get some more letters from the bank and latest tax transcripts.

As for adjusting--things have been so hectic right before and after our wedding, it is kind of strange to finally be settling. We are both adjusting living together and I think the most difficult thing for my husband is not being able to work. He is a wonderful man however and I am so happy we are finally together!!

One question about the vaccination supplement. The Embassy doctor gave my husband one shot for the varicella (chicken pox) vaccine, but then checked the "insufficient time interval" because she said he would need a second shot in the future. Did this happen to anyone else? Can we just send in the form "as is" or should we try to get a second varicella vaccine?

Will send wedding pics soon!

Congratulations on you two being together finally and married :)

To answer your question, I had Varicella history, so I'm not sure about how the vaccination series for that works. But in your case, I'd just search the internet on that topic or even call a USCIS doctor and ask them directly. Since his vaccination requirements aren't complete, he has to have the I-693 filled out anyways. Just check the USCIS civil surgeon list for your area and call them to see what's up and for how much they would do the shot and the filling out of the form. Don't forget to mention that your husband is a K1, if he had his medical within the last year, he DOESN'T have to do a FULL medical again. Sometimes the doc's don't know that, or seem to "forget" that with those little dollar signs in their eyes  Lol.

we'll be sending our forms in this week....

Had to wait a bit to make sure all the vaccinations were ok, because Sarah's missing a few, but she's pregnant so she can't get them yet. Yay for 2 hours at the Civil Surgeons office!

So one question - with the I-131 form...we aren't planning a trip out of the country this year, but next year we are...we don't have the dates set, but likely she'll have her green card by then anyway....what's the best way to fill out the I-131?
