AOS Filers: April 2009

I can't believe this, it has happened so fast !! Notice of Interview arrived for wife and daughter !!

I only check my PO Box a couple of times a week, and when I looked today, I found two I-797C's (NOA's) for Applicant to Appear for Interview, sitting in the box. They had been sitting there for three or four days.

I have not had any other info since the biometrics appointment three weeks ago, and no touches, or even have been able to open my I-485 application on my portfolio online.

It was just not even six weeks ago that the NOA, receipt for my two AOS files, were mailed from the Chicago lock box facility, until the date on these to interview notices have appeared. It is scheduled for the middle of June, about a month from now.

And not a word about the EAD, as I guess they think that is a moot point, if the GC's will be produced/issued right after the interview?

We have already been married over two years, and I fully front-loaded our two AOS application files including color photos of us together here in the US.

Again, things have always gone smoothly, but the speed of the action and no other notices or indicators, have surprised me from what I was expecting.

Does anybody know how long the card production takes, I mean how long it actually takes until you got the card in the mailbox?

PS: I shortened "card production" to "c.p." on the spreadsheet. Just fyi.

04-30-08 Received EAD "card production ordered" & AP Approval notices from CRIS (YESSSS!!!!!)

05-05-08 Received EAD "card production ordered" notice from CRIS (AGAIN???)

05-06-08 I-765 touched and AP received in the mail!

05-08-08 Received I-765 "approval notice sent" e-mail from CRIS

05-09-08 EAD received in the mail (YIIPPEEYY!!!)

5.05.08 - EAD Card Production ordered GOT EMAIL (we received the same email on 5.09.08)

5.13.08 - Approval Email for EAD (so the card was ordered first, and then we were approved...hum)

5.15.08 - EAD Card Received in mail. Yeahh, yeahh. Applied for SSN.

Oct. 8.........EAD Card production ordered; Oct. 9, 14.........EAD touched again; Oct. 16.......EAD Approval noticed mailed, yeah

Oct 17 ...........EAD touched (after being mailed yesterday, wonder what this one's about??)

Oct. 18........EAD in hand (came in mail)

So, even though they give a 30 day time, it may actually only take 10 - 15 days ! I'll keep my fingers crossed on that !

Wow, congrats to those of you who already have the interview date and/or EAD approved! That is really fast! I am surprised about USCIS after my experiences with them in the past.

I hope all others will have news soon too!

Thanks Panterchen, I am surpriseed as well. I guess the economy may have contributed a bit to this.. Cos the sooner older cases are OFF their desk, the better their chances are for FUTURE cases on hand..with the increase in fees on all these forms.. Sincerely I pray the economy stabilizes sooner so we can live a better future with JOBS on hand..not unemployment.

Cos the sooner older cases are OFF their desk, the better their chances are for FUTURE cases on hand..with the increase in fees on all these forms.. Sincerely I pray the economy stabilizes sooner so we can live a better future with JOBS on hand..not unemployment.

Thanks for the timelines I'm always so impatient, waiting is always killing me. But 10 to 15 days doesn't seem bad at all, especially when you know that it's in it's way.

Is it just random, or was anybody able to figure out a connection between biometrics and ead date?

Jason noticed that there are still H1-b visa's available and they are usually gone in 1 day. They open up on April 1 so maybe that's why the AOS's are moving faster with the economy not doing as well there are less people coming here.

Congrats to everyone hearing good news and getting EAD's!! That's very exciting. :dance:

We are still waiting for the RFE letter that was sent May 8. Frustrated that we've lost a week.

Hello everyone! I took my biometrics today, everything was very fast and lady was very nice!! I left home at 7am, took me 1 and 1/2 hour to drive there and at 10am I was already back in town shopping at Walmart!
