Oh wow, that sucks. I hope we won't all have to go back and have another medical.

It's cari. You remember her?

It is their problem to loose it but will be our problem if they did...

This sucks. Its not fair at all, and taking a full medical here its even more expensive...I read a other case like this in VJ and eventualy the personwas able to contact her senator and avaoid the full medical...

Oh really? I'll let her know, but I kinda doubt she wants to go through the hassle of contacting a senator. It's good to hear somebody was successful with that though. Thank you :)

Did they not give you a copy of the medical report? One sealed and one for your records? Jay had his medical done here, but they gave him a copy that way if the USCIS loses the sealed envelope you can come back into the office with your other copy and they can reissue a sealed report. A pain yes, but better than paying for a new medical.

Is there any way you can get in touch with the doctor that did it before you have another done?

Shelly

Nope, they didn't give me a copy of the medical. I only got a copy of my vaccination worksheet. I was peeking into the sealed envelope the embassy send me (one corner is cut off) and I saw that my medical was in there, but they kept the envelope at the POE. Damn, I would be pissed if they lost mine, I paid 140 Euros for my medical, and then another 300$ for a new medical here.

I know somebody tried to get in contact with the doctor to get a copy of the vaccination sheet, but they told them that they keep no records of the embassy medicals. Oh, I'll cross my fingers that all of us will be safe.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms and Moms to be :)

I'm so sorry to hear that about your friend Chibby! I did not get a copy of my medical exam abroad either, I did not even know that I could ask for a copy! Anyways, I did take a new medical exam here in the U.S. because my exam abroad had been more than a year ago by time we filed, and we did not want to take any risks. We did receive a copy of the medical exam performed here.

I know the copy of my medical was inside the brown envelope I gave to the Officer at the POE because he went trough all of it and then start to asking to his supervisor what to do since the doctor didn't sign everything on the Tb part...I was sweating and scared he was going to reject me but his supervisor told him I could take care of it before filling AOS...I really don't understand why in Italy they don't do the Tb skin test since now its required! Btw I took care of it here and fortunatly after several tries I found a CS that agree to make me just the Tb skin test and vaccination transcription without require me to take the whole exam again!

They don't do the TB skin test in Germany either. I don't understand why it's required since we're already did the x-ray to show we have no TB?!? Does anybody know?

Chibby,

can this man that we really all need to have an additional TB skin test done? I am about to explode and hate this whole system. Why on earth would the doctors at the medical before we get the K1 not do this then? Instead we might have to redo everything here...

I've seen people that get through with and without this being done. I though the TB test was age driven, but I'm not sure. The entire process to me is hit or miss and depends on who reviews your case. It's sad to say this, but it's actually the way it looks.

Here's some info from the USCIS site.

Q: Who is required to have a TB test?

All applicants two years of age or older are required to have a tuberculin skin test (TST). Children younger than age two are required to have a TST if there is evidence of contact with a person known to have TB or if there is other reason to suspect TB. If evidence of TB infection is found, a chest x-ray is required. Any person with a positive skin test reaction of more than 5mm will also be required to undergo a chest x-ray.

Q: When did the new TB requirements become effective?

The new TB testing and treatment requirements became effective on May 1, 2008. However, CDC allowed a 30 day grace period. Therefore, any medical exam that takes place on or after June 1, 2008 must be performed in accordance with the new TB testing requirements.

Q: Will USCIS accept Form I-693 if the civil surgeon performed a chest x-ray without the TST?

No, the civil surgeon must administer the TST, unless one of the exceptions listed in the Technical Instructions applies. If the civil surgeon performs a chest x-ray without giving the applicant the TST, the reason for omitting the TST must be noted on Form I-693.

I agree, I think it'####### or miss on TB test. I think if you had the medical done here, you will need to get the test. I would not worry about it unless you get a RFE.

Chibby since your friend got an RFE I think they are going to have to redo it. The USCIS changed forms maybe that has something to do with it.

I know it's a pain, but I would just have it redone. It's probably the fastest way to get the process started again.
