So, the husband is on his way to work where he will send the AOS package on his lunch break...yay.

I've been here since January, and I'd say I'm pretty adjusted by now lol. But the first month was pretty hard, everything new, going from living alone to living with 4 other ppl, getting married, the language, homesickness, door knobs lol. And it's sooo annoying that whenever you go and buy something you have to add the tax first to see if you even have enuff money on you. But nevertheless I feel at home here now, even when there are still a few things I'm not adjusted to.

We will be filing later this week, just waiting for the final piece of info to come through.

Received everything back from Dr Arnold, although not having the TBT will wait to see if i have to get it done.

No wedding pics from us, we have the large wedding ceremony on 2nd May where we will have pictures taken. We went to the court house to get married and collared 2 unsuspecting ladies to be our witnesses!

How would you know if you need a TBT?

You will know when they send you a RFE ;)

*waves*

We just sent it in yesterday 4/6/09. I also freaked out slightly about the Medical... sent AOS in without it (but did send in a copy of the vaccination form from when he did the K-1 biometrics/medical). MAYBE get a RFE for that and/or employment vertification (just got another letter TODAY).

Ah well. We're just glad to get the ball rolling (we were waiting for my tax return and happy we got it from California!)

Good luck everyone! :D

We sent in our package on friday, April 3 and it was delivered to the Chicago lockbox yesterday, April 6!

Its funny that you mention the door knobs. My husband has also mentioned adjusting to door knobs here (And I had the same reaction when I was living in Argentina with him waiting for the K1 visa). Its amazing how things can be so different down to the tiniest details, and how difficult it can be to adjust to such seemingly minor things.

The new TB requirements on the USCIS website say all people adjusting status are required to have a TBT despite the chest x-ray many people had at their overseas medicals. This is a fairly new requirement and there's a bit of confusion surrounding who can perform it (a civil surgeon? any physician?) and what documentation they want. Many people have been approved without it, so a lot of us are just waiting it out to see if we get an RFE for it.

Thanks for the comments on the pictures! Our photographer was David McNeil- he's based in London. We wanted to have engagement photos taken in England since that's where we met and we loved his work so much that we decided to use him as our wedding photographer!

Sebastian is adjusting alright to American culture, although he's not used to the lack of public transport. I'm a full time student, so the poor guy just sits around all morning until I get home :(. Summer and the EAD will be here soon, though, with any luck!

I'm very curious as to how can opening is different. Do tell :).

Thanks for sharing the photographer's info.

I saw David McNeil's work online and honestly think your pictures are much better than most of the pics in his online portfolio. Congratulations again.. we'll try and see if we can get McNeil for our grand Indian wedding :).

Cheers!

WOW! It looks wwwwwwaaaaaay more organized than what we sent in yesterday!! Looks great... now I have my own concern.. are we supposed to send extra copies of the I-94 and visa page with the other forms even if there's already a copy in the packet? *biting lip*

I did at least send in 6 passport pictures...

And ummm... we do have certificated copy of marriage certificate, but we send in a copy of it (we'll bring the actual certificated copy to the interview -- hopefully!!)..

*sweat forming*

I don't think I was as thorough with this packet as I was with the K-1... :(

I didn't send enough passport photos! I didn't realise they were needed for the travel permit application! Guess we're getting an RFE.. Will that hold up the EAD anyone know?

Hello all! Great thread I just learned so much. I just returned to the states with my Fiance on the 26th of March. We are starting to look into the next steps and I really want to get the ball rolling.

Is there any reason to wait a certain amount of time to file for the EAD, AOS and AP? We have the 90 day marriage requirement on our K-1 so we are thinking a quick civil and get the paperwork rolling.

Any advice would be great. I may be joining this thread if all goes well.

I just did some research again on this I-6xx(don't remember exactly) that you should use for AOS instead of teh vaccination worksheet that they handed to you for the K1 Medical and found this in the visajourney FAQ:

Q: Why are K non-immigrant visa holders asked to include a vaccination supplement when filing Form I-485 to adjust status?

Some countries allow K non-immigrant visa applicants to defer their vaccinations until after they arrive in the U.S. If the beneficiary's vaccinations were not completed as part of the visa process, it is necessary to include form I-693- part 1, part 2-vaccination section, and part 5 in the application.

If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693 IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693.

So actually, I guess I should be ok since I had all my vaccinations completed for the medical...But who knows...
