Stupid question maybe, but are we supposed to get the I-863 I-693filled out? Is that a real biggie? He came over on a K-1.

I did send in a copy of the vaccination form that he had done prior to his K-1 interview (I don't know if it's called the DS----).

We're going in for the biometrics appt tomorrow. A little crazy with my work schedule :-/

**Just edited.. is it i-863 or i-693? for medical..

hey VJers, so today i went to take the biometrics with my wife. We saw somewhere that the appointment letter it's some kinda of "walk in" and as long as you got it in the mail you can go. Our appointment was for the 16th of May originally. So we went and, at the desk, we've been scolded for the fact that yes it is a walk in but only if you miss the appointment and that walk in thing is valid only on Fridays and Saturdays. The lady let us pass anyway and she gave me a sheet to fill out. Once i did it she gave me a number and me and my wife went to seat. Total waiting time + biometrics time: 20 minutes. There was nobody. Extremely fast.

Another step is done. Now we just need to wait and see what's gonna happen :)

Congratulations ShannonandMarco!

Krissy,

If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693 IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. (this is what I had in mind) The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693.

"Q: Do I need to complete another full medical to adjust status?

Per Section 1245.5 in the Code of Federal Regulations, a medical examination shall not be required of an applicant for adjustment of status who entered the United States as a non-immigrant spouse, fiancée, or fiancée of a United States citizen or the child of such an alien as defined in section 101(a)(15)(K) of the Act and §214.2(k) of 8 CFR chapter I if the applicant was medically examined prior to, and as a condition of, the issuance of the non-immigrant visa; provided that the medical examination occurred not more than 1 year prior to the date of application for adjustment of status."

People have used just the DS3025 without any issues. NO RFE.

Thank you for posting this! I also need to go for my biometrics on a different date than the scheduled cuz my husband has to work on that day and I don't want to drive all the way to Milwaukee by myself (3 hours). My appointment is for Thursday 21st of May, so according to what this lady told you we would be fine if we got there on Friday 22nd. of May? Is that right?

I have another question for all of you, did you send 6 pictures with your AOS Package? I realized that I only sent 2, now I'm fearing that I'll get a RFE for that! Ughhhhh :(

Hi there :)

ok, this is what i got from the receptionist in Baltimore, i really don't know how's gonna be in Milwaukee. I don't feel completely safe to tell you "yes sure". Personally, i consider that the rules should be the same pretty much everywhere, and we're talking about to get in, fill out a paper, they check that you have your appointment letter and your name is on the database, then take fingerprints and a picture. It is very simple. Considering that you have to travel 3 hours (WOW  ) ... maybe you can try to give it a shot. What i've been told is Fridays and Sats is completely walk in if you've missed the appointment on the letter you got in the mail, no big deal.

About the pictures, you must submit 2 pics every form your requesting: I-485 for the GC, I-795 for the EAD and I-131 for the AP. Anyway, if you'll get an RFE.. Don't worry, sending 4 more pics it's something very easy to fix ;) (although very annoying, i can understand). If you get it, get them ready (i'd suggest you to send over all the same pics, then 6 brand new) and send them over overnight so your case can proceed again with not much interruption :)

Good luck! :)

Shanon and Marco, thank you for your response! I agree with you things can be completely different for Milwaukee or they might handle it differently, you just never know with the USCIS...

My Lao Po, yes I know I could ask to re-schedule the appointment according to what the notice says, but I wanted to know if anecdotally, someone had gone on a different date without re-scheduling. I really don't want to ask for another date and expect for a response, I think I'm gonna go by myself on the original date :( I'll use my husband's GPS and hopefully I wont get lost! LOL I'm not afraid of driving on the highway as I've been driving for quite a while and almost since I got here I was driving too, but I'm just worried about getting lost in the City, as Milwaukee is a big city! Oh well! I'll guess I'll just have to be ahead in time, just in case I have trouble finding the USCIS office.

As for the pictures, I will get an RFE!!!! :( I did thought about sending a picture for each form that requested pictures, but then I guess I moved to check something else totally forgot to double check and just sent the ones with the G-325 :( I'm gonna follow your advice on going ahead and take 6 new pics. and have them ready before hand!

Thanks!

NO RFE.

I don"t know of anyone yet who was refused when he/she went earlier to their biometrics appointment. Marco is the only one I believe where I have read that they even realized it. Maybe they will start realizing it now though when all of a sudden tons of people go earlier and not as schedule ;)

If you live far away I would personally stick to the original date or reschedule. But that's my personal risk aversion. Lol.

As for the medical and vaccination worksheet; it seems some people got through the process without an RFE for just sending in the DS vaccination worksheet you have been given at the K1 Medical in your home country whereas others received RFE s for that. Somewhere here on VJ I also found a guideline where it said you don't need anything else than that worksheet if you had every vaccination completed before you went to the US. Personally, I think it seems there is no 100% rule/guideline (as we see there is also ambiguous rules stated by USCIS). It will depend again on your USCIS worker looking at your case.

Oh and to all of you who got transfered: I noticed that they must be working on the AOS case as my last updated changes a lot. Since this past saturday it says that my case is at the CSC and it was updated again yesterday. Does this mean they are already working on it (whereas noone looked at my EAD application yet)? That would be fast.

Hey guys, how did you keep checking into your case status? The USCIS website doesn't recognize the MSC receipt numbers!? Argh.

USCIS didn't recognize any of the MSC receipts for me until a couple days ago when the Travel Document showed up and this morning the EAD finally showed up, both approved.....I got the Advanced Parole (to travel) today in the mail...I sent paperwork out on March 17th.... The I-485 MSC #'s still do not show up.

Best of luck to you guys!
