My husband and all of his family is in Southport. It's beautiful there and going through this process sometimes makes me wonder why I didn't move there instead. Oh well.

I would absolutely go for the biometrics early. Especially if the wait time is 3 weeks or more.

Panterchen it will be interesting to see if or when you receive any info on your case, if it's before you bio appt. was.

we might do that, do we just show up at the place with appt letter and id? My wife's just worried they'll turn her away lol

Will you let me know how it goes? Waiting for my letter and then I'm going to go early I think to get it done with..

I think as long as you bring your letters with you and all the proper id, they will not turn you away. They will just do it. We are planning on going early in the morning and our appt. is in the afternoon.

I recived letter for biometrics at Saturday for May 13 and I went today at Orlando office and they did it witout any problem. It took me all 10 minutes and they were nice.

I'm looking at the spreadsheet for the March 2009 filers to see.

Not many people went early so it's difficult to say, but someone was transferred the day the went for biometrics and they went early.

Our appt. is tomorrow, but if it was next week or later we would be going this week any way.

there is no "proof" that it speeds up the process, but I believe that it can't hurt if you have the time to go earlier, especially when you have a 3 weeks from now appointment (or even longer). The ASC will have to process the fingerprints, too, and depending on where that office is, they might have a backlog, so why not go earlier. Because USCIS will not be able to issue the EAD without the fingerprints.
