My biometrics appointment letter just got here. It's scheduled for May 7th

But I was wondering, the I-485 is usually sent to the local office and they work on it there, right? We live in Washington D.C. so I thought that would be our local office. But for the biometrics I'm invited to Alexandria, VA. That's not much further away from us, I was just wondering why?! I couldn't even find that office in any listing like on the USCIS website where you can check your local office's processing times. I'm kind of confused.

Well, we got our NOAs late yesterday, with a notice date of the 20th on all 3...

Guess we just sit and wait for either the Biometrics notice or an RFE!

Are you expecting a RFE? If yes, for what?

It's USCIS, though, so I'd bet on that good ol' RFE!

BTW, is anyone else having an issue with USCIS' site? I can't seem to get it to load to log onto the case status section.

Oooh, that makes sense. Well I wish you luck that they won't notice. A full medical is so expensive

hi everybody,

we got our NOAs last week but when I go to USICS page i can't find our case whit numbers that we have in NOA. Should i call USICS?

One other question. We are still waiting for biometrics letter but we are planning to move in a week from florida to california. Do you know will that prolongate our process a lot? We were hoping to get biometrics before to go and try to do it before to go but I'm not sure will that be possible.

Not everyone can see their case online and there doesn't seem to be any reasoning behind it. Sometimes it takes a few days to show up and sometimes it never does, but it doesn't mean your case isn't being processed.

Tihana there is a place on the USCIS site that you can change your address. I don't know if it will prolong the process or not.

I just got back home from my biometrics in Oklahoma City doing it three weeks earlier than my appointment letter said I should be there!!!! Everything was fine. I had no problems at all doing it earlier and no one even said anything about it. As long as you have your appointment letter, everything is easy. I was in and out in 30 minutes.

Congrats Panerchen!! Did you just show up at the place and they took you? Our appt. is next week so I don't think we'll go early.

What happens next?

You just show up there, show them your appointment letter, fill out paperwork and then they scan your fingerprints and take a picture. That's it!! I don't know what happens next. I guess upcoming now is just a loooong wait for EAD, AP and GC interview.

I didn't realize you could just show up and they would do it early. We both already arranged for Wednesday off work next week so that's when we'll go. Will going early get you looked at sooner?

That would be interesting to know. My appointment is in two weeks, but if it helps speed up I'd go earlier, too. But well on the other hand, what are two more weeks in this process. Sigh. But panterchen, I can see why you went earlier, your appointment was really a long wait.
