OK! To all of you that are wondering what I did. Well, by no stretch of the imagination am I an expert, I was just lucky.

I. I do not have a lawyer

II. I included in my packet the least amount of ####### and included all pertinent information to prove that I have a relationship/communication with my loved one.

(e.g, I personally didnt feel like tons of emails, photos and phone bills proved anything, all they do is cause the processor confusion while trying to view pertinent information.)

III.

1. I included a cover letter, that I received off VJ (Thank You!). ( Once complete, I had a notary check over all my docs and had the notary sign off on my cover letter to make it an official document.

2. I included two photos printed on regular paper, so the photos were the same size as the other documents (both photos were on one sheet of paper). One wedding photo and one additional photo.

3. I included all pertinet information about myself (Copy of my Birth Certificate and all pages of my Passport,) To prove I have been to Jamaica several times and I am a US Citizen. ( No need for Airline receipts and misc receipts)

4. I included all pertinent information about my husband (Copy of Birth Certificate and all pages of Passport).

5. Copy of Official Marriage Certificate

6. I-130 Form Completed

7. G-325a plus photos for the both of us. I put the photos in a plastic bag and attached each one individually to the G-325a with a paper clip. Note: the USCIS WEBSITE says to not use ACCO Clips. I made sure to write in pencil not pen.

8. Finally, I signed all documents in BLUE INK, so that it ensured my documnts were oringinals and not copies

I hope I included everything.

May god bless all of you. Remember in times like this, save yourself some money, less is better, QUALITY not Quantity!

As you have mentioned, you are just LUCKY....

I am sure that there were lots of people in here who sent their papers in a well organized manner. It is just that they are NOT LUCKY as you are.. Or shall we say, they are JUST LUCKY to be stuck in a service center which works slower than the other one..

Anyway, I know that what you posted could help some new filers.. Perhaps, it would help USCIS workers to check the documents faster but the dates when to check it would be on the hands of the service center workers. The quality of papers and how you arranged them would matter but IT IS NOT AN ASSURANCE THAT YOU COULD GET A QUICK APPROVAL.. It all depends on LUCK..

Peace.. :star:

first great on your quick approval!

I agree with candidwitch.

There are many many people who put together "perfect" petitions, yet they arent as lucky as you were.

Thank you for your well meaning intentions by posting this to help others, but to see your fast approval as anything but a fluke would be irrational.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Maybe not at the USCIS stage, but perhaps (or definitely) at the consular stage. Filers have discovered that evidence brought to their consular interview has been refused, and they have been issued 221(g) forms for "not enough evidence of relationship." Had more evidence been included in the USCIS filing, the consulate could not deny its existence.
all they do is cause the processor confusion while trying to view pertinent information.)
How can YOU make such a claim with authority? Please be more responsible with your statements, because new VJ members or the innocently unsuspecting may be at risk if they rely on unfounded assertions.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I agree with Tbone...:) we should post responsibly and should be able to back up our information. Besides the information needs to be verifiable. Every case is unique and so are the results.

I appreciate the thread starter's genuine intent to help others. The way one organizes documents will make an IOs job easier, yet does not guarantee speedier approval. I have had many arguments with users on different forums regarding Creditable source of information.

I filed two petitions last October - one for my spouse and one for my child. Looks like they have sperated the two files, and that is what a CSR at the USCIS number told me. Separating the cases doesnot make sense, especially in the case of the Child. I mean to call back and tell them that.

I have included all necessary documents and have organized it in a way that browsing through the documents is a pleasant expereince :) yet, I have not heard back from them. My both cases were transferred to CSC on january 14th along with many VJers out of which now, I believe i am the sole VJer that is stuck at CSC.

Everytime I hear someone getting approved at CSC in record number of days makes me jealous and frustrates me. but i cannto do anything over things out of my control. I am very happy for those who get approved quickly or otherwise. However, I get really agitated when i hear or see nothing from CSC on my cases. Even my calls have yilded nothing.

Oh god...I wish I could do something....

We did include "evidence", was it necessary for the uscis approval? no. but it will give the consulate a chance to view all of that "front loaded" eveidence before the interview even takes place. There have been some vj'ers that said its recomended to do just that for their particular consulate because of what you mentioned above.

I agree Y'habibitk! And isn't it best to keep collecting new evidence of a on going marriage, emails, cards, etc to present to interview? That is what Im doing cause to me evidence before filing is fine, its also what is going on during the process with USCIS, NVC and etc. before the interview. to show a bona fide marriage with communication, Right? They will also want to see that too at interview.

Im on to NVC.............................................................................

..........................................................................

I think mostly the luck came from when you filed. CSC has sped up considerably lately. My brother in-law's petition was approved March 9, in 35 days and it was 65 pages long. The extra pages were partly that Chinese Notarial translations end up taking six pages to one page, he had a 15 page divorce decree and we added about a dozen pages of "front loading" evidence. Such evidenc has little if anything to do with petition approval or processing time. It was included to deal with red flags at the Consulate stage.

Your list of items above primarily represents having filed as instructed, with the exception of the totally usless notarizing of the cover letter. USCIS doesn't actually question whether the petitioner actually signed the cover letter, since it isn't a required document. All the Notary did was attest to who signed the letter.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous

congrats on your speedy approval... NOV 2007 I filed an I-130 for my wife and had it sit at VSC for 8+ months before it was transfered to CSC and approved 2 weeks after they received it for a total alittle over 9 months...at that time many were waitng just as long... last month I filed another I-130 for my stepson which was routed directly to CSC from the Chicago lockbox and approved in 28 days from start to finish...maybe USCIS has finally found some form of efficiency

Congrats - and yes, I'll agree with others that your speedy approval was definitely to do with the timing, even more than luck, though that is luck too of course. Many of us who've had fast approvals recently have benefited from whatever's been happening at the service centers this year - extra staff, easing of the horrendous 2007 fee-increase that caused a backlog, whatever.

My own application included a TON of evidence. I didn't want to take any chances and wished to frontload as much as possible. My husband will have to deal with a notoriously strict embassy in Casablanca at his interview, and I wanted to make sure he has an easy time of it without having to produce a huge amount of evidence and undergo an interrogation at that point to convince them of our bona fides. I included about 70 emails (from both sides), about 30 photos taken over the 6 years we've known each other, including lots of wedding party photos. ALL of my credit card records showing airline tickets purchased over the years. ALL of my phone records. And 5 sworn affidavits from family and friends. If that was a burden for the reviewing officer, they didn't hold it against me! Quality is important, but quantity is equally important, particulary if your beloved comes from a high-fraud country or, in my case, a Muslim country.
