Chatting with Sapphire in the Vent form.. this song came to mind.. it got me through the first few weeks of leaving the country and friends & Family i love so much back home..

I actually sang it at our Church " blessing" (not a wedding mind you), back in Canada the weekend before we left for the US..

I dedicate it to Sapphire :)

Follow Love - FFH

I'm gonna miss the simple town full of memories

I'm gonna miss just hanging out with all my friends

The rainy days and summer nights

Skipping stones by the river side

But i know.. its time to go

So heres goodbye heres so long

I must go and follow love

I feel my heart moving on

I must go and follow love

Carry on while I'm gone

This is what i've been dreaming of

I miss you so

But i must go, go and follow love

I've got a heart thats full of dreams

and a little bit of crazy

I can feel it pulling me to somewhere i have never been

I'm packing up and leaving home

To travel into the great unknown

Its time, i have to go

So heres goodbye heres so long

I must go and follow love

I feel my heart moving on

I must go and follow love

Carry on while I'm gone

This is what i've been dreaming of

I miss you so

But i must go, go and follow love

Were not guarranted tomorrow

So we must just keep on living for the day

and make the most of every moment

every step along the way...oh

So heres goodbye heres so long

I must go and follow love

I feel my heart moving on

I must go and follow love

Carry on while I'm gone

This is what i've been dreaming of

I miss you so

But i must go, go and follow love

I must go, go and follow love

Keep in mind that I do not like country. This morning, however, I have this song by Paul Brandt called Alberta Bound and I listen to it once and awhile. I also always listen to it when I'm going home to Canada because I feel it sort of excites me to get there.

I'm Alberta Bound

This piece of heaven that I've found

Rocky Mountains and black fertile ground

Everything I need beneath that big blue sky

Doesn't matter where I go

This place will always be my home

Yeah I've been Alberta Bound for all my life

And I'll be Alberta Bound until I die

I also love listening to Jann Arden's waiting. "And buy a ticket for a plane and come and see me baby, or drive your car all night by just star light to Canada, that's where I'll be waiting."

I also love spirit of the west's Home for a rest. That always gets me by.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

This song always makes me cry. Actually, this thread is making me cry.

Shaye - Beauty

So you've come to this bridge

In an unfamiliar land

You know it's a bridge you are going to walk on

And the only thing you know is

Everything you know

Will do you no good from here on

And the day that you spin

From your little cocoon

Well, you can't be prepared

For the beauty you'll find there

And you will find beauty

In the toughest of places

And I will be thinking of you out there

So pick up your bags

Look around at your friends

And you know none of them

Would ever have enough strength

To cross the bridge and lose control

I never felt this bold

Never felt this good

And the day that you spin

From your little cocoon

Well, you can't be prepared

For the beauty you'll find there

And you will find beauty

In the toughest of places

And I will be thinking of you

Stay true to your nomad skies

Keep your eyes out for coyote

A thousand secrets are lost

In the archival dust

So lay your ears upon the tracks

One day you will come back

With wrinkled hands and grey hair

And there you will stand on the spot

And you'll marvel how the place is still the same

Though you are somebody else now

Fly on butterfly

And the day that you spin

From your little cocoon

Well, you can't be prepared

For the beauty you'll find there

And you will find beauty

In the toughest of places

And I will be thinking of you out there

No matter what bar you go to in Canada, the will play this song on most friday and saturday nights. It's a right of passage. I have so many good memories of this song and something I was doing.

Spirit of the West has some great songs.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

This song always makes me feel melancholy:

Comin' Home-City&Colour

Well I've been down to Georgia,

I've seen the streets in the west,

I've driven down the 90,

Oh hell, I've seen America's best.

I've been through the Rockies,

Hell, I've seen Saskatoon,

I've driven down the Highway 1

Just hopin' that I'd see you soon.

Cuz I'm comin' home

I'm comin' home (x6)

Well I've never been to Alaska,

But I can tell you this;

I've been to Lincoln, Nebraska

And hell you know it ain't worth ######.

I've been through Nova Scotia,

Sydney to Halifax,

But I'll never take any pictures

Cuz I'll know I'll just be right back.

Cuz I'm comin' home

I'm comin' home (x6)

Well I've seen a palace in London,

I've seen a castle in Wales,

But I'd rather wake up beside you

And breathe that old familiar smell.

I never thought you could leave me,

I figured I was the one,

But I understand your sadness,

So I guess I should just hold my tongue.

But I'm comin' home

I'm comin' home (x6)

I know that we're taking chances,

You told me life was a risk,

I just have one last question;

Will it be my heart

Or will it be his?

Comin' home,

I'm comin' home (x6)

I love the song "April on the Ground" by Justin Hines. I've always thought of this visa journey as a "season" of my life. I listened to this song with the idea that "April" was a metaphor for whenever I finally get to move in with my husband. Turns out April will actually be the first full month in which we are together!

You can listen/see it

Hey, don't post my lovers lyrics on here. They are sacred! :innocent:
