Hey Sharon, are you close tyo REVA Va? We were up that way a few weeks back. Nice area.

Snow has stopped and now melting.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Hell if I knew Scott haha so I checked on Mapquest. Apparently I live a total distance of a mere 23.96 miles from Reva, Virginia so I guess the answer is YES, I do live near there! hehe Too bad we didn't know before-hand you and the wife coulda dropped in! Would have been nice to hear another Canadian!

And yes again....this IS a beautiful area, the Blue Ridge Mountains are breath-taking. :)

So, besides reading and providing storm stats on VJ today, what else is everyone doing since being housebound?

I've made blueberry scones and chicken vegetable stew. :P

Also, cleaning, ironing, and chatting via webcam with my husband (L)

What did I do today? CLEAN!!! Hubby and I have cleaned like we have never cleaned before!! My parents are due to visit in early Marsh, and we figured we should get a good head-start in

Still snowing in Maine, btw. My car is safely stashed in the local school parking lot and I'm not looking forward to retrieving it at 6:45am tomorrow!

Hope everyone is safe and warm :star:

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

24"-30" of snow here where I live in Connecticut with drifts up to mid-thigh :o

The snow has finally ended and I'm trying to dig out 2 cars. Also the airports are either closed or have limited flights leaving. I hate winter!!!

Connecticut here too... We got spanked pretty bad, for sure....

Happy

The snow here has actually melted some already. My daughter has a 2 hour delay here in Virginia this morning. I've usually woken her up by now and I know she'll wake in a panic after she looks at her clock....lol.

Anyone who got up early this morning see the moon? Mannnnnnn it's beautiful! Big and bright and clear. It actually woke me up shining in my eyes at 5:25 a.m.!!

I am supposed to have our new living room set delivered to us today....anyone wanna take bets that I'm going to get a call from the furniture store telling me that they can't do it because of the snow?

Well it's official...I got the DAMN CALL. They won't attempt to bring it until Thursday now, and even that is tentative. I might have to wait a whole week. :crying: I worked my a$$ off all weekend painting this living room so that it would be all nice and ready for the new sofa and chair, and I've never painted before other than our small bathroom so it was hard! And I did two colors too which made it even harder.! :hehe: And I'm so sore from doing all the plastering and sanding and painting and this morning the water spigot up at the barn was frozen so I couldn't water the steer. They have enough water till this aft. so I hope the damn spigot thaws by then and.....oh. I'm whining.

Stupid snow. We went to memphis and the town freaked out on Friday cuz it got 5 inches of snow. However, by the time we arrived (Saturday around 1PM) it was all off the roads. I wonder if it was on the roads to begin with. Anyways, it seemed like we were being followed by the snow, as it kept on coming down yesterday on the way home (to St. Louis). Makes it fun driving on I-55!

I love my job.
