Wedding Date/Travel Date

On the checklist, as most of you know I am sure, it gives a place for wedding date and travel date. We are planning to get married Aug 15. However, if possible at all, my college graduation is June 13, and I really wanted him to be over for that. So if we put the wedding date as August 15, but put a travel date in June, would they give him a June interview? Or do they go strictly by wedding date, especially since that is still over 4 months away? Is it possible we could get an earlier interview date?

I am SO sorry for all these questions, I am just trying to get all of my information straight!

The embassy will probably try and accommodate the date that you put for when you aim to leave.

Do you think its reasonable that if I recieved NOA2 a few days ago, my fiance would be able to get the interview and leave by June? Or is that unlikely?

You are better off looking at the timelines to see how long people waited. I got NOA2 24th Feb and got Packet 3 on the 16th Mar. I haven't sent my forms back yet.

If you get through the NVC without any hold ups and you have all your paperwork ready to send the packet 3 back straight away you may possibly be on track for an interview in time.

vj exists to answer questions. no need to be sorry. you are probably asking a question that other people want to know the answer to.

s'all good, as they say. (they say it, i dont. : p)

and i think you do have a shot at getting him stateside for your graduation. just keep on top of things and hope that there are no snags.

I would say wedding date of June 13 if that's the day you want him here. And that would depend on how things go from now until P3 arrives. Obviously if things were held up and you were mailing back your forms on June 1, that might not work, but you'll be able to gauge it as it goes along. I can see it would very meaningful to you to have him at your graduation because it's a really special day of accomplishment. Congratulations to you. So if you can pull it off to get him here early, just DO IT!!
