Thank you for sharing that. :)

Hi I am new to visa journey and logged on just to see how long it was taking others to have their k1 visas processed. I saw that yours is being processed in VT like mine.

My application was initially approved for my fiance from Australia in April. The it was recalled because of the new info they needed for Imbra. I got my RFE and returned it to VT, they noted they recieved it on June 17th.

I was wondering if you could tell me when they said they recieved yours and how long you have been waiting for yours to be approved?

Thanks!

It takes an average time of 15 days. But this can really vary. Some have taken 6 days, others more than 20.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Ok, the questions begin. I met Luz through Yahoo personals. I am guessing that it isn't a MB but I would like to hear that from someone official. I had one previous petition MORE than 2 years ago. If I read that right I don't think I need the wavier. Right?

I think a "marraige broker" is a nicer way of saying "mail order bride service". Also stuff like match.com but geared exclusively international relationships or international "sex tours". I have seen many of these sites, whether its just as small as a simple "meet" service with profiles or as elaborate as what seemed like these women were all photoghraphed at a hotel just to get an American man constitues a marriage broker.

(I have nothing against anybody trying to get here in anyway, I don't hate, I congratulate)

Thanks for the copy of the RFE. That was really helpful. I have a question and I'm hoping that someone out there has an answer. I met my SO online on a site set up specifically for members of my religion. You CAN sign up for the service if you are outside the U.S., but the bulk of the members are from the U.S. Maybe I should check yes to IMBRA just to be safe? I'm not sure.

I am so concerned about this imbra thing. I used a immigaration lawyer and he told me to put yes

on the imbra question. I got her address accidently on filipina kisses site. I was not a member and never

sent them a dime but when visiting their site they usually illiminate all personal contact info but they missed

her skype id and did not take it off. We chatted on skype never went through filipina kisses. I explained this to

the lawyer and he said just put yes that u met on filipina kisses because they are a german company and

the usa has no juristiction over them.

Now i read here that the definition says a company whether or not organized under usa law. So it appears we

are screwed. Should i be expecting an rfe? and an additional delay? If so i will be so pissed at the expert

immigration lawyer that i payed to help me get this right. Please advise.

Thanks so much for sharing, it is truly helpful. I thought they would give more details about the marriage broker definition. It is very broad, and leaves a lot of questions.

I met my fiancee on Yahoo personals, should I check yes or no????

Yahoo personals are not considered a IMB because they welcome everyone, international or domestic to join.

That is just my opinion. Please ask others who have filled out the form (mine was done before IMBRA) and read the descriptions for yourself.

An online dating site, no matter where in the world it originates, is NOT a marriage broker. There are many marriage brokers who, for a large fee, make all the arrangements overseas for weddings between people who barely know each other. IMBRA is intended to reduce the number of known sexual predators and other dangerous criminals who bring unfamiliar brides to the U.S. and then abuse them, involve them in criminal activity, etc. etc. There is no evidence yet that it is making any difference in this kind of trafficking.

Hi!

I see almost everyone we're getting the response to your IMBRA waiver that you filed..

My fiance and I haven't filed for ours because we basically don't have any idea on how do we even send the waiver and

the required documents we need to attach beside the I129F...

I am not sure if I should include my birt cert, cert of no marriage, etc again since I was the same fiancee of the same petitioner.

I was already granted a fiancee' visa previously and entered United States previously but for some personal

reason we did not push through with our plan to marry until now... I need help on the documents I need to send to USCIS along

with the IMBRA waiver plus-- do I need to also include the filing fee for the I129F?

Please help!!!

That's a nice official sounding opinion, but as I read IMBRA any site that charges a fee that facilitates matchmaking "is." I'd love it if someone could link to something legally or officially definitive.

Yes there are those who charge thousands and set up meet and greet parties, and tours, but as I read IMBRA even a $20 joining fee puts places like thailovelinks or thaikisses in the same arena. All I care to know is if we met and I check yes, but all the other answers are non-problatic is there "no issue?"

yeah i'm pretty torn myself on how to interpret this. i met my fiancee on chinesekisses.de and as far as i can tell, it's as normal of a dating website as match.com, eharmony, etc, and aside from the membership i paid to join, i basically did all the work myself without any additional help from those running the website (again just like match and eharmony).

i'm leaning towards just filling out question #19 and explaining that it's a dating website and that no one brokered a relationship...

so, anyone out there successfully filed the I-129F that has met their fiance/fiancee on a similar type of dating website that can share how they filled out the form?

thanks.

My first contact with my fiance was on a site called DateinAsia.com, it is a free site for philippino and basically all nations to meet and it is absoutely free. I put this information in the I-129f petition along with my trip tickets and passport stamps for the three years that I have been there to see her. I am not sure about cherry blossoms, I do know that it is a paid site but you are not buying addresses just the right to search their database.
