I 797 Mail time?

Got married overseas, did the visa process thru the embassy in Argentina, no problems whatsoever. my wife has resident status (probabtionbary on two year marriage and we have travelled back and forth from Arg to USA several times. Called the 800 number to check on her upcoming AOS status - married two years July 2 - and a message said that our I 797 form has been approved and mailed March 13. I am guessing it is the final permanent approval. Today is March 24th- still no letter or package from Immig. . The message also said if you do not receive the form in 30 days call back.

Is this form sent directly from their facility to us or does it pass thru some other locatle for process. 30 days? Should I be calling or just be patient? We are heading to Arg. in 4 weeks and I wanted to get this out of the way.

There is still time for it to come. Hope you don't end up like me tho. They said they sent me form I-797 on 2/23/09 a few weeks went by and i still didn't have it so I called, they said wait 30 days and call back. 30 days was up yesterday, so I called back today and they said to file form I-824 and pay a 340$ fee!!! So I have to pay because they either screwed up or the mail system screwed up. (I didn't move either)
