No shortage of people willing to believe that each new administration is the advent of a new age of totalitarianism.

There's also a surplus of Obama supporters buying into any crazy scheme Obama can dream up and call it an economic stimulus. Trillions are being spent with very little opposition or questioning with the brilliant theory that since Bush was a big spender it's ok if Obama exceed the excesses of the last administration.

The crazy unconstitutional legislation to target a single corporation (AIG) to allay the people with pickforks as Obama hits dazzles his way with celeb appearances is a sign Obama has no plan or direction but expects consumers and investors to buy into Washington's currency which replaced the dollar with Monopoly money.

The charge during the campaign was that Obama was all style and no substance with no leadership experience. Now we got what we deserved. "Change Nobody Believes In or Understands".

Hardly an answer that befits the question. Seriously though, don't you find it a little weird if someone one is meant to taken seriously uses these analogies? In such a flippant way to boot? Or, do you really think that somehow Obama and his cronies are set on a course to destroy the middle classes and install some kind of 'ivory tower political elite'? It seems rather far fetched to me.

Whatever Obama and his pals are doing, what they are not trying to do is destroy America and what it stands for deliberately and with malice aforethought.

Unfortunately there will always be cause and effect. For every action there is a reaction. Sometimes good and sometimes not so good. I'm sure a whole lot of unintended consequenses that have befell mankind were done with the best of intentions. No....I do not believe Obama and crew are "trying to destroy America and what it stands for deliberately and with malice aforethought". They are heading in a direction that does not have a consensus...even from many in his own party. Some EU leaders think he is headed "on the road to hell". I saw that on the news this morning.

All I said is that Buchanan has done his homework and has presented some of the present circumstances with some historical perspective. The guy isn't saying that Obama is the new Hiltler and we can expect another world war next year like clockwork. Geez!

Nobody knows how all this stuff playing out now will eventually end up. However, Buchanan makes a good case for the return of high inflation at the very least in our future. The big question is what this will lead to in the long run.
